Nicole Simpao, Lynchburg, Fr. Midfielder

Simpao, a freshamn from Stafford, Va., registered nine-point week as the Hornets went 2-1 over a six-day stretch.  Simpao opened with a 34th minute goal to tie the game 1-1 in Lynchburg's 2-1 loss at nationally fifth-ranked Salisbury.  She followed that with a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win at Ferrum.  Simpao capped her week by scoring twice against then ODAC-leading Shenandoah, notching LC's second goal and then depositing the game-winner in the 59th minute towards a 3-2 victory.  Simpao is tied for the ODAC lead with 34 points and eight assists, and is second with 13 goals scored.

Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll

Alenka Ferrufino, Bridgewater (Sr. - A)
Ferrufino put together a three-goal week in the Eagles 2-0 showing.  She scored twice in the opening 14 minutes of BC's 4-1 win at Virginia Wesleyan.  She then scored the game-tying goal as the Eagles recovered from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Roanoke, 3-2.

Kaitee Nicholas, Randolph-Macon (Jr. - M)
Nicholas scored once off a penalty corner and added an assist and a defensive save in a 5-4 loss at Washington and Lee.

Megan Diehl, Roanoke (Fr. - A)
Diehl put together a five-point week in a 1-1 showing for the Maroons.  She scored once in a 3-0 win over Transylvania, and then added a goal and an assist in a 3-2 loss to Bridgewater.

Morgan Lee, Virginia Wesleyan (So. - M)
Lee dished out a pair of assists in the Marlins 1-1 week.  She had a helper in a 4-1 loss to Bridgewater, and then provided the service on the first goal in a 2-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite.

Maggie Waxter, Washington and Lee (Jr. - A)
Waxter registered her second hat trick of the season (third of her career) to help the Generals recover for a 5-4 overtime win over Randolph-Macon.  She scored in the 46th minute and forced overtime with a goal in the 61st minute, and then slotted home the game-winner 2:12 into the first overtime period.
