ODAC Athletes of the Week | Golf

FOREST, Va. --- The past seven days featured just ODAC women's teams in action as there were no men's events on the calendar. Conference women's squads took part in a pair of a events, including the inaugural VSGA Women's Intercollegiate, although it was shortened a day by rain. Earning this week's ODAC Women's Golfer of the Week honor is Lily Self from the University of Lynchburg.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Self, a first-year from Bristol, Tenn., picks up her third ODAC women's golf weekly award of the fall season after finishing as the top ODAC player at the inaugural VSGA Women's Intercollegiate. James River Country Club in Newport News served as the host for the event with the tournament's 33 players only able to enjoy the 5,725-yard par-71 track for one day as inclement weather forced the cancellation of the second round. Self tied for third overall with a 4-over 75, her second-lowest round of the season. She closes the fall campaign having placed in the top-five in all five tournaments in which Lynchburg feature. Self's efforts helped Lynchburg to a second place team showing at 58-over 342. Three of the Hornets four scoring players finished in the top-eight.
