ODAC Athletes of the Week | Golf

FOREST, Va. --- Week four of the ODAC fall golf season featured six total events where conference athletes performed well. That included the efforts of this week's ODAC Golfers of the Week -- Eddie Coffren V from Lynchburg and Laetitia Roegner from Washington and Lee.

Below are entries for both Golfers of the Week. Click on the associated links to see that sport's weekly honor roll. Most weeks this fall, the following schedule will be used for awards reporting:

  • Sundays: football
  • Mondays: field hockey, soccer, volleyball (basketball and swimming when they begin)
  • Tuesdays: cross country (indoor track when it begins)
  • Wednesdays: golf

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Eddie Coffren V | Lynchburg | Fy.
Coffren V, a first-year from Owings, Md., picks up his second weekly honor of the season after leading Lynchburg in a strong field at the Royal Lakes Invitational hosted by Berry College. Coffren navigated the 6,828-yard layout at Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club at 1-over par 145 to tie for 11th following 36 holes in Flowery Branch, Ga. He opened with a 1-over 73 and posted an even-par 72 on day two. He registered a eagle for the second straight tournament and sunk eight birdies, the sixth most in the field. He and teammate Andrew Watson were third-best on par-5 holes at 4-under par. Lynchburg finished fourth as a team at 19-over 595 (300-295). Coffren leads the ODAC in scoring average at 71.0 through four rounds of competition. The Hornets top the team average standings at 293.2 strokes per round.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Laetitia Roegner | Washington and Lee | Fy.
Roegner, a first-year from Greenwich, Conn., shined in a national field at the NCAA Division III Women's National Preview hosted at eventual national championship site Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. The event, which was shortened to 18 holes due to weather, featured players from 16 of the top D-III programs in the country including 15 that were rated 24th or better last season by Golfstat. Roegner was up to the task on the par-72 track set to 5,804 yards as she tied for seventh overall at 2-over par 74. She carded one birdie and 14 pars on the way to finishing four strokes back of medalist Alison Takamiya from George Fox University. Washington and Lee finished fifth as a team at 21-over 309. Roegner is tied for second in the ODAC with teammate Megan Kanaby with a 75.7 average through three rounds of play this season
