Jason Spaar, Bridgewater, Jr.

Spaar, a junior from Roanoke, Va., was part of a big performance for the Eagles at the Green Turtle Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester, Va. Spaar won the individual title following two rounds on the par-71 layout set at 6,367 yards. He is the first Eagle to claim medalist honors in a tournament since Elijah Hackett and Matt Dye won once each in 2013-14. Spaar's efforts helped Bridgewater win the team title by nine strokes over second place University of Lynchburg, marking the Eagles first tournament win since the spring of 2012 when they claimed the McDaniel Spring Invitational. Spaar carded a 1-over 72 in his first round, and then tied three other players for the low-round of the tournament with an even-par 71 to post a two-shot victory at 1-over 143. Bridgewater shot 29-over 597 as a team, the lone squad under 600 for the tournament. Their second round 293 (following a 304 in round one) was the low team round of the event and only score under 300.
