Michael Vick, Guilford, So.

Vick, a sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., helped Guilford open its 2022-23 season in resounding fashion at the Gate City Invitational as not only did the second-year standout claim medalist honors for the first time in his career, but the Quakers topped the 17-program team table. Vick highlighted the 89-player leaderboard with a 9-under 204 to win by five strokes following three rounds at the Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. All competitors played 36 holes on day one. Vick opened with a 3-under par 68, tying for what "was" the low score in the ODAC this year. He eclipsed that in round two with a 6-under 65, which doubled as the low-round of the tournament. He capped the 54-hole affair with an even par 71 on the 6,682-yard track. Guilford, ranked 24th in the initial Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, finished even-par as a team at 852, two shots clear of #1 Methodist University. The Quakers posted team rounds of 283 and 287 on day one with their first round tally tying the ODAC's low-round for the fall with Washington and Lee University's second round at this event. Guilford topped that by a stroke in round three, carding a 2-under 282.
