Martone, a sophomore from Holly Springs, N.C., put together a doubly dramatic outing in claiming her second career individual medal at the Bridgewater Invitational. Martone opened the 36-hole tournament with a 5-over 77 in round one at the Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Va., leaving her five shots off the pace set by 2021 ODAC Championship individual medalist Emily Brubaker from the University of Lynchburg. Martone made up those five strokes in round two as she carded an even-par 72 on the 5,658-yard layout. That left both players tied at 5-over 149, leaving a playoff to determine the tournament champion. The 18th proved to be the only tiebreaker hole needed as Martone's par bested Brubaker's bogey on the par-4 300-yard finisher. Martone's efforts helped Bridgewater to second in the team table at 54-over 630 (321-309).
