Bridgewater College speedster Adalia Coleman successfully defended her indoor title as the "Division III's fastest woman" by repeating as the national champion in the 60-meter dash to headline the final day of action at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. ODAC athletes added seven more All-American honors to the seven laurels collected on Friday. Coleman matched her prelims time of 7.54 seconds in the 60-meter finals to secure one of two All-American honors on the day. She finished sixth in the 200-meter dash, making her one of four conference competitors to earn multiple All-American awards at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The other three are Virginia Wesleyan University jumper Geni Roberts and University of Lynchburg mid-distance/distance runners Frank Csorba and Tor Hotung-Davidsen. Roberts, who finished as the runner-up in the long jump on Friday, added a bronze medal to his trophy case with a third-place showing in the triple jump on Saturday. Hotung-Davidsen was a part of Lynchburg's fourth-place distance medley relay team on day one. He upped the ante on day two, donning a silver medal with a second place finish in the 800-meter run. Csorba was also a member of the Hornets DMR squad. He blazed up the lists in the men's 3,000-meter run, finishing 11 spots better than his seeding position (19th) to chime in eighth overall. Lynchburg's Aniya Seward and Shenandoah University's Miles Moore accounted for the remaining two All-American awards. Seward placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles, while Moore chimed in eighth in the 200-meter dash.

ODAC athletes collected seven All-American honors on the first day of competition at the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday. Four conference records feature new benchmarks with the majority of the league's 16-person contingent in action at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. In addition to the "lucky number" of All-American honors, Bridgewater College's Adalia Coleman is deep into her 60-meter dash title defense after posting the event's best time through preliminaries on Friday. She will compete in that discipline plus the 200-meter dash in a handful of finals events on Saturday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Sixteen of the ODAC's best track & field stars head to Birmingham, Alabama this weekend for two days of competition at the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Birmingham-Southern College and the City of Birmingham serve as hosts at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Mary 10-11. The ODAC's contingent is three athletes heavier than in 2022 with nine men and seven women comprising this year's list of 16 qualifiers. University of Lynchburg's trio of Frank Csorba, Tor Hotung-Davidsen, and Aniya Seward will compete in a pair of events. They're joined by teammates Hailey Smith, Jacob Hodnett, and Sam Llaneza in forming the largest single-school representation in the conference. Virginia Wesleyan University multiple All-American jumper Geni Roberts will also compete twice in Alabama. Donning Shenandoah University colors are throwers Tucker Kindig and Kiara Felston as well as speedster Miles Moore. Thrower Michael Smith and sprinter Adalia Coleman represented Bridgewater, while sprinter Katelyn Gamble and distance runner Carolyn Todd carry Washington and Lee University's flag to Birmingham. Pentathlete Ray Ray Taylor will compete in the five-event discipline in Eastern Mennonite University apparel, and sprinter Brady Fowler sports the maroon from Roanoke College.

It is rare to have a "first" for a set of awards that have been bestowed since the early 1980's, but that is exactly what we have this season following the announcement of the Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Awards on Tuesday afternoon. Shenandoah University women's basketball forward Olivia Weinel and Eastern Mennonite University cross country and mid-distance track athlete Isaac Alderfer garnered the conference's highest honors from the ODAC Board of the Directors. Weinel is the first recipient of either honor from Shenandoah since the Winchester-based school joined the ODAC prior to the 2012-13 season. Alderfer is the sixth Royal to earn the Jopson Award and 12th overall high honor winner from EMU. He is the first Royals' student-athlete to claim either trophy since Tyler Denlinger earned the Jopson Award in 2017.

Bridgewater College speedster Adalia Coleman captured gold in the women's 60-meter dash on Saturday at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., highlighting the efforts of ODAC student-athletes that featured seven All-American awards following two days of competition at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships.

Winston-Salem is the destination for a baker's dozen of the ODAC's best track & field stars as the NCAA announced the qualification fields for the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. JDL Fast Track will serve as hosts along with Visit Winston-Salem and the ODAC's own Guilford College for two days of competition on March 11-12.

One record increases and another begins as the ODAC Board of Directors handed out the league's highest individual honors in naming the winners of the Majorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Awards. Washington and Lee University swimmer Emily Hageboeck earned Berkley Award recognition, while University of Lynchburg runner Shawn Gmurek collected Jopson Award laurels. Hageboeck is the 11th winner of the Berkley Award from W&L, furthering the Generals conference record. Eastern Mennonite University student-athletes have won the second-most honors at six. For Gmurek, the list is brand new as he is the first Hornet from Lynchburg to claim the Jopson Award. He does continue an interesting trend as a cross country or track & field athlete has collected Berkley and/or Jopson distinction each of the past seven years dating back to 2014.

The ODAC caught up with University of Lynchburg cross country and track & field standout student-athlete Shawn Gmurek, who won the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Award as the conference's top senior scholar-athlete. He is the first winner of the Jopson Award in Lynchburg history.

The latter end of the ODAC's alphabet features in the final recognition bestowed by the conference this year as Virginia Wesleyan University and Washington and Lee University are home to the 2018-19 Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Scholar-Athlete Award winners. Marlins women's basketball playmaker Jayla Harris earned the Berkley Award, while Generals cross country and track & field runner Hank Patrick received the Jopson Award following a vote of the conference's Board of Directors.

Four ODAC stars earned All-American status on Saturday during the final day of competition at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Boston-Massachusetts in the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. A total of six athletes from conference schools saw action on Saturday.

For the second straight season, ODAC athletes will bring back a handful's worth of All-American honors from the NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships. The conference's contingent of seven competitors collected five top-eight finishes over two days of action in Birmingham, Ala.

Seven student-athletes from ODAC member schools will carry the league's banner at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. Standouts from five schools will make the trip to Birmingham, Ala., for two days of competition on March 9-10 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

It came down to the wire on the men's side of the ledger, but by Sunday's end the same two schools stood at the top of the podum for the second straight year after 32 events at the 2018 ODAC Indoor Track Championships. Bridgewater College captured its fifth straight women's crown, while Washington and Lee University collected 33 points over the final two events to win by four points over Bridgewater and secure its second men's title in as many seasons.

Generals' women's tennis star Brooke Donnelly is joined by Royals' men's track & field and cross country standout Tyler Denlinger as the winners of the 2017 Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Scholar-Athlete Awards, as selected by the ODAC Board of Directors.

Having already been named the indoor National Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Amber Celen has also earned the Outstanding Performer of the Meet Award for the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships.

The five athletes representing the ODAC and their respective schools at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships have done much more than just show up in Naperville, Ill. Each standout has earned at least one All-American award thru nearly two days of competition at the Res Rec Center at North Central College.

Eastern Mennonite University and Washington and Lee University added to their awards quota for the 2015-16 season as the ODAC Board of Directors announced the annual winners of the top scholar-athlete awards in the conference. Royals' cross country and track & field star Hannah Chappell-Dick was selected as the Marjorie Berkley Award winner, while Generals' tennis standout Michael Holt was tabbed for the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Award.

Dr. Finn Pincus, who just completed his 25th year as head coach of the Roanoke College Cross Country and Track & Field programs, announced Monday that he is retiring. Pincus will remain as a part-time assistant coach for the cross country programs through the end of the 2016 season. Roanoke Director of Athletics Scott Allison said a search for a new Director of Cross Country and Track & Field will begin immediately.

Four of the six athletes from ODAC member schools took home All-American honors at the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend. Bridgewater sprinter Amber Celen, Eastern Mennonite and Virginia Wesleyan mid-distance runners Hannah Chappell-Dick and Marissa Coombs, and Washington and Lee jumper Dana Lee each garnered honors following competition at the Bear Athletic Center at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.

Washington and Lee University collected its 20th and 21st season-ending conference accolades as the ODAC Board of Directors announced its top two individual student-athlete awards on Monday. Generals' track & field athlete Jillian Katterhagen was recognized as the Marjorie Berkley Award recipient, men's tennis player Christopher Hu took home the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Award.

Washington and Lee University track & field standouts Dana Lee and Zander Tallman earned the conference's top track awards on Tuesday as the duo were tabbed the ODAC Track & Field Athletes of the Year. The Generals' stars are on opposite ends of their collegiate careers with Tallman recently graduating and Lee completing her first campaign in Lexington.

One school received its record 19th season-ending individual honor while the other earned just its second such prize as the ODAC Board of Directors announced its top two individual student-athlete awards on Monday. Washington and Lee University cross country and track star Annelise Madison was recognized as the Marjorie Berkley Award recipient, while Guilford College baseball standout John Macon Smith took home the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Award.

Roanoke College standout Carmen Graves and Virginia Wesleyan College star Randy Lott were named the 2013 ODAC Track & Field Athletes of the Year in a vote of the league's head coaches. The recently graduated Graves earns the conference's top track distinction for the third straight season, while Lott secures his first best-in-sport honor heading into his senior campaign.

Roanoke College senior Carmen Graves added to her personal trophy case with her fourth All-American award at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships over the weekend. She placed second in the 800-meter dash, breaking the facility record twice during prelim and finals competition.

A pair of familiar and highly decorated student-athletes collected the final athletic awards of the 2011-12 campaign. Roanoke's Carmen Graves and Lynchburg's James Bell were named the ODAC Track & Field Athletes of the Year for the second straight season. Bell earned the honor outright in 2011 while Graves shared her accolade with LC’s Jessica Gibbs a year ago.

A pair of Maroons earned the conference's top awards in a vote of the ODAC Board of Directors at the annual league meetings last week. Roanoke College women's track athlete Sarah Witt was recognized as the Marge Berkley Award winner, while golfer Brandon Ketron was tabbed the winner of the Doc Jopson Award.

Randolph College will be increasing its sports sponsorship by four beginning in 2013-14, as announced by the College on Tuesday. The WildCats will begin preparations for new programs in men's and women's indoor track as well as men's and women's outdoor track & field. The four sports increase Randolph's total sponsorship to 17 sports.

Lynchburg's James Bell (pictured) was joined by fellow Hornet Jessica Gibbs and Roanoke's Carmen Graves in being named the ODAC Men's and Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Year. All three competed in the NCAA Championships last month in Delaware, Ohio, and were standout performers throughout the ODAC season.

Three student-athletes earned the conference's top awards in a vote of the ODAC Board of Directors at the annual league meetings earlier this week. W&L's Greg Kurkis was recognized as the Doc Jopson Award winner. BC's Christina Rhodes and W&L's Emmy Mathews will share the Marge Berkely Award., marking the first tie in Berkely Award history.

The postseason awards continued to roll in for a pair of the conference’s most successful spring athletes as the ODAC track & field coaches voted on their sport’s top athletes of the 2010 campaign. Bridgewater senior Courtney Hartman and fellow senior Ricky Flynn from Lynchburg were named the 2010 ODAC Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Year.

Just three days after leading his Lynchburg outdoor men’s track & field team to the 2010 ODAC Championship and earning conference Coach of the Year honors, head men’s cross country and track and field coach Dr. Jack Toms announced his retirement Tuesday from coaching, effective at the end of the season. He will remain as the director of athletics at the school.

Washington and Lee seniors Becca Taylor and Elizabeth Webb have been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine College Division Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Team as selected by CoSIDA. Both Taylor and Webb were tabbed to the third team.

Junior sprinter Robin Yerkes has added another trophy to her resume by becoming the 2009 USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.

Washington and Lee cross country and track & field athlete Elizabeth Webb has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships. The award is a $7,500 scholarship for academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree as a full-time or part-time graduate student.

Lynchburg College received five first place nods and a total of 34 points to edge out Bridgewater College by four points in the 2007 ODAC Men’s Indoor Track Coaches’ Poll. The Eagles picked up the remaining first place vote and tallied 30 overall votes in the annual coaches’ survey.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has seen only two schools win championships in women’s indoor track and field with Lynchburg College leading the class with eight titles while Roanoke College has collected four championships in the 12 years of competition.

In 2007, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference has seen a dynasty in Lynchburg College. Head Coach Jack Toms has seen his indoor track and field team win nine consecutive ODAC titles and 20 overall throughout history. The preseason poll as voted on by the coaches has the Hornets looking for an unprecedented 21st victory.

Both of last season’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) indoor track and field champions return solid squads this winter, leading to early predictions of a pair of back-to-back titles. Lynchburg College, the 2006 men’s champion, and last year’s women’s title winner, Roanoke College, earned top billing in the annual ODAC Indoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches Polls. The Hornets picked up four first place votes among the men’s coaches while the Maroons garnered all six top tallies for the women.
