  • Jaylyn Lane, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Jumps/Sprints
    February 11, 2020
    Lane, a sophomore from Portsmouth, Va., put together a strong day with a pair of ODAC top-four jumps at the Vince Brown Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport University. Lane finished second overall in the long jump at 5.27 meters (xx). That mark increases her grip on the top spot in the ODAC. She also placed third in the triple jump at 10.65 meters (xx), which is fourth in the conference. On the track, Lane placed 30th in the 200-meter dash in 0:29.22, and helped her teammates to first in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:34.09.
  • Saluting the Winter Scholar-Athletes

    Five student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools earned a 2011 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the winter athletic schedule. Farm Bureau Insurance is the proud presenter of each award for the ODAC's 22 sponsored sports.
  • Postseason Awards for ODAC Men's Hoops

    Randolph College head coach Clay Nunley (pictured) turned his first ODAC Coach of the Year Award into the NABC South Region top coaching honor. He heads a list of postseason accolades for ODAC men's hoops, including a pair of All-America honors for EMU's Todd Phillips and a national Rookie of the Year award for VWC's D.J. Woodmore.
  • NABC/Reese's Division III All-Star Game

    The NABC announced rosters today for the Reese’s® Division III College All-Star game, which will played as part of the 2011 NCAA® Division III men’s basketball championships, March 19, at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. The senior all-star players were nominated by coaches and selected by a panel of coaches representing each region in Division III.
  • VWC Falls to Williams in Sectionals

    Williams College's Ephs produced the points when they needed them down the stretch Friday, pulling away from the Virginia Wesleyan College Marlins in the final four minutes to post a 79-73 victory in a regional semifinal contest at Williams. WC moves on to face Amherst on Saturday for a spot in Salem. VWC ends its season with a 25-5 record.
  • R-MC's NCAA Run Halted by St. Mary's

    Randolph-Macon saw its season come to end Saturday night with a 68-53 road loss to St. Mary's of Maryland in the second round of the 2011 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets finish the season with a 25-5 record, marking the fourth straight season and fifth in the six years that R-MC has posted at least 20 victories.
  • VWC Completes Comeback Against F&M

    Virginia Wesleyan trailed by as much as 11 points in the second half on Saturday evening, but a furious 21-5 run near the end of the contest helped the Marlins knock off Franklin & Marshall, 79-71, in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. VWC will face Williams College next weekend in the Round of 16.
  • R-MC Rallies for OT Victory

    No. 6 Randolph-Macon rallied from seven points with just over one minute to go in regulation to tie the game and win in overtime 62-59 over Alvernia in the first round of the 2011 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament. R-MC will face No. 13 St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
  • Marlins Overpower Aggies in NCAA Win

    Donald Vaughn (pictured) led four Marlins in double-figures on Friday evening as Virginia Wesleyan rolled to a 93-63 victory over Delaware Valley College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. VWC moves on to face Franklin & Marshall on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
  • VWC Hosting, R-MC Heads to St. Mary's

    Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon are headed to the NCAA Division III Tournament, as announced on www.ncaa.com on Monday afternoon. The Marlins will host first and second round games on campus at the Batten Center while ODAC champion R-MC heads north for the second straight year to St. Mary's (Md.).
  • R-MC Wins Fourth ODAC Title

    Randolph-Macon shot 55.6-percent from the floor and had four players in double figures as the Yellow Jackets topped Randolph College, 68-43, in the 2011 ODAC Men's Basketball Championship Game. R-MC earns the ODAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament, which begins next weekend as sites yet to be determined.
  • Randolph Stuns VWC, Heads to Finals

    Pete Hamilton canned five three-pointers to help Randolph reach its first ODAC title game with an upset victory over top-seeded Virginia Wesleyan, 80-76, in the first semifinal of the ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament. The fifth-seeded WildCats will square off with second-seeded Randolph-Macon for the conference crown at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Salem.
  • R-MC Heads to Second Straight Title Game

    Randolph-Macon kept Eastern Mennonite at bay most of the evening, paving its way towards a 90-79 victory and the second straight berth in the ODAC title game. Danny Jones led all scorers with 27 points as he went 13-of-16 from the stripe. R-MC will face Randolph College on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. for the ODAC crown.
  • Va. Wesleyan Shoots Past W&L into Semis

    Virginia Wesleyan shot a scorching 67.1-percent from the field in out-gunning Washington and Lee, 98-78, in the first quarterfinal of the ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament. The Generals also shot well, hitting 50-percent of their field goals. The Marlins move on to face either Randolph or Guilford in the semifinals on Saturday.
  • Randolph Records First Tourney Win

    Randolph College saw a 20-point first half lead evaporate into a one-point nail-biter with under a minute to play before holding off Guilford, 75-72, to record its first ODAC tournament win. The WildCats will square off with top-seeded Virginia Wesleyan in the semifinals on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the Salem Civic Center.
  • Randolph-Macon Outlasts Roanoke

    Randolph-Macon College withstood a gritty effort from Roanoke College in advancing to the semifinals with a 63-56 win in the third quarterfinal of the ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets will meet Eastern Mennonite in the semifinals at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Salem Civic Center.
  • Crawford Put-Back Propels EMU into Semis

    Eli Crawford saved EMU from completely squandering a 16-point first half advantage with a put-back of his own miss with 1.8-seconds to play to propel the Royals past H-SC, 76-75, in the fourth quarterfinal of the ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament. Third-seeded EMU will meet second-seeded R-MC in the semifinals at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Salem Civic Center.

Woodmore received ODAC Freshman of the Year accolades and Randolph's Colton Hunt was selected as the scholar-athlete.

    The No. 9 seed Washington and Lee men's basketball team used a 16-4 run to open the second half as it pulled away for a 66-51 victory over the No. 8 seed Lynchburg Hornets on Tuesday evening in the opening round of the ODAC Tournament at Turner Gymnasium.
  • Roanoke Downs Bridgewater In First Round

    Roanoke College overcame an 11-point deficit with 11-minutes left to down Bridgewater, 72-69 in the first round of the ODAC Tournament Tuesday evening at the Bast Center. The Maroons move onto the ODAC Quarterfinals and improve to 12-14 on the year, while the Eagles end their year with an 8-18 mark.
  • H-SC Posts a 71-61 Win Over E&H

    Hampden-Sydney College used a 12-4 run midway through the second half and never looked back as it claimed a 71-61 victory over Emory & Henry College in the First Round of the ODAC Tournament.

    Virginia Wesleyan enters the ODAC Men’s Basketball Tournament as the top seed for the first time since 2007, earning the event’s top billing thanks to head-to-head tie-breaker over second seeded Randolph-Macon. Eastern Mennonite and Guilford hold down the third and fourth seeds while Randolph earns its first trip to Salem in program history as the fifth seed.
