  • Randolph Names Pete Hamilton as New Men's Basketball Head Coach

    The Randolph College Athletic Department is pleased to announce Pete Hamilton '11 as the second head coach in the history of the men's basketball program at Randolph. Hamilton brings with him a wealth of experience in the region as well as a WildCat.

    Roanoke College Director of Athletics Scott Allison announced Thursday that Clay Nunley has been hired as the College's 10th Head Men's Basketball Coach. No stranger to the ODAC, Nunley comes to Salem after nine seasons at the helm of the men's basketball program at Randolph College, where he has guided the WildCats since the program's inception in 2007.
  • Roanoke's Moir Steps Away from Men's Basketball Post After 27 Years

    Page Moir, the winningest men's basketball coach in Roanoke College history, announced Tuesday he is stepping down after 27 seasons at the helm of the Roanoke program to pursue other opportunities. During his tenure in Salem, Moir led the Maroons to 428 wins which is tops among current ODAC coaches. Moir's teams won three ODAC championships, made six trips to the NCAA Tournament and had five seasons with 20 or more wins.
  • Burnett's 30 Not Enough as LC Rally Falls in Loss to Ohio Wesleyan

    The Lynchburg College men's basketball team nearly rallied from a 15-point second-half deficit Saturday evening, but 10th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University escaped with a 97-94 victory in the second-round of the 2016 NCAA Division III Tournament. Hornet junior guard Zack Burnett connected for a game-high 30 points and seven assists, and hit four of his five three pointers on the night.

    Lynchburg College used a 22-0 first-half run to open a double-digit lead and cruise to a 82-55 win Friday over Scranton University in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Division III men's basketball tournament, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

    Fresh off its first ODAC title since 1979, the Lynchburg College men's basketball team is set to leave for Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, for first and second round action in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament. The Hornets will square off with the University of Scranton on Friday.

    The Lynchburg College basketball team defeated Randolph College 62-60 in overtime Sunday afternoon to capture the 2016 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament title, the first conference crown for the program since the 1979 season.
  • LC's Graves, RC's Moir Headline ODAC Men's Basketball Awards

    Lynchburg forward Alex Graves and Roanoke mentor Page Moir secured two of the major honors as part of the 2016 ODAC Men's Basketball All-Conference awards. Graves was tabbed the Kurt Axe Memorial Player of the Year, while Moir earned Bob Johnson Coach of the Year laurels. Guilford forward Alston Thompson received ODAC Rookie of the Year honors, while fellow Quaker Zachary Houston was named the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete.

  • Lynchburg Seeded First in ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament

    The ODAC tiebreaking procedures got a workout following the completion of the ODAC men's basketball regular season. Six ties dominated the league table, with all 12 tournament positions requiring some application of the league rules. Lynchburg College came out on top of Virginia Wesleyan College for the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament.

  • Virginia Wesleyan Tops ODAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll

    Virginia Wesleyan College stands atop the ODAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll for first time since the 2012-13 season, earning nine first place votes on the way to 118 total points. Lynchburg College sits second with 106 tallies, while Hampden-Sydney College is third with 98 points and the remaining first place votes in the annual survey of the league's head coaches.
