  • V University a Success in First Year of Partnership with ODAC Basketball

    Prior to the 2017-18 Division III basketball seasons, the ODAC announced a new partnership with V University virtual campus for supporting cancer research. As proud as the conference members were to announce the relationship, it doesn't match the satisfaction following the success of the first year's worth of sponsored events.

    Roanoke College forward Josh Freund headlines the list of postseason men's basketball awards for ODAC players this season. He was tabbed a Second Team All-American by the National Assocation of Basketball Coaches (NABC), his first such honor.
  • W&L's George Named Academic All-American by CoSIDA

    Washington and Lee University guard Nicholas George added a very unique honor to his career list of plaudits on Wednesday afternoon as he was named a Second Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). George is the fourth men's basketball player in Generals' history to earn Academic All-America laurels and the first since Michael Holt '91 in 1991.
  • Franklin & Marshall Tops E&H in NCAA Men's Basketball First Round

    The Franklin & Marshall College Men's Basketball Team (21-6) used a strong second half to pull away from Emory & Henry College (22-7) by a 73-59 score in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament Friday. The contest marked the first NCAA postseason game for the Wasps since the 1992-93 season when they reached the Sweet 16.
  • Emory & Henry Travels to CNU for NCAA Men's Basketball Early Round Action

    Just one school will represent the ODAC and its 12 playing members in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament for a third straight season as conference champion Emory & Henry College will carry the conference banner on the national stage. The Wasps learned of their early round destination early Monday afternoon as they will be traveling to Newport News, Va., for a four-team pod at Christopher Newport University.
  • Emory & Henry Wins First ODAC Men's Basketball Title

    The #4 Emory & Henry Men's Basketball Team (22-6) made history Sunday afternoon, winning its first-ever Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship by a 72-70 score over second-seeded Roanoke College (20-8).
  • RC's Freund, R-MC's Merkel Headline All-ODAC Men's Basketball Awards

    Roanoke College forward Josh Freund and Randolph-Macon College mentor Josh Merkel headline the 2018 All-ODAC Men's Basketball Awards, announced by the ODAC on Friday morning. Freund was named the Kurt Axe Memorial Player of the Year, while Merkel received Bob Johnson Coach of the Year honors. Bridgewater College guard Dimetri Chambers was tabbed the ODAC Rookie of the Year, while Washington and Lee University forward Nicholas George earned ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors in a vote of the league's sports information directors.

    Four different ties dotted the final men's basketball standings, dictating much of the seeding in the upcoming ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament. Unlike last season, there was not a tie that included the top seed with Randolph-Macon College earning this season's top billing.

  • EMU Announces Melvin Felix as Next Men's Basketball Head Coach

    Eastern Mennonite University has announced the hiring of current assistant coach Melvin Felix as the new Head Men's Basketball Coach. He has been the lead assistant at EMU under Coach Kirby Dean the past seven seasons.

  • Guilford Headlines ODAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll

    Defending ODAC champion Guilford College starts out the new season just where it left off the previous campaign as the Quakers were picked atop the 2017-18 ODAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll. Guilford earned eight first place votes on the way to 117 overall poll points. Randolph-Macon College sits second with 104 tallies and a pair of top considerations, while just two markers separate Virginia Wesleyan University from Emory & Henry College for third place. The Marlins picked up 95 points and one first place vote, while the Wasps got the remaining top nod as part of 93 points in the annual coaches' survey.
