  • Hampden-Sydney Tabs Jason Rostan to Men's Lacrosse Post

    Hampden-Sydney College Director of Athletics Richard Epperson '79 has announced the hiring of Jason Rostan '03 as the program's fourth head lacrosse coach since the program's first varsity season in 1976. Rostan has been a part of the lacrosse program for 17 years while serving as an assistant coach for the past 13. He replaces his father, Ray Rostan, who retired after 32 years with the Tigers.
  • VWC's Currier, W&L's Armstrong Named USILA First Team All-Americans

    Virginia Wesleyan College attacker Josh Currier and Washington and Lee University defenseman Buck Armstrong lead a long list of ODAC athletes to receive season-ending honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Assocation (USILA). The pair were named First Team All-Americans, headlining a group of 14 standouts from conference schools to earn national awards.
  • Generals Fall to York (Pa.) in NCAA Men's Lacrosse Second Round

    Seventh-ranked York outscored 20th-ranked Washington and Lee, 10-1, over the final 44:49 to claim a 12-5 win over the Generals in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship at Kinsley Field.

    Virginia Wesleyan College attacker Josh Currier and Hampden-Sydney College mentor Ray Rostan highlight the 2016 All-ODAC Men's Lacrosse Awards as the pair were named the ODAC Player and Coach of the Year, respectively. Washington and Lee University attacker A.J. Witherell received ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades, and Shenandoah University attacker Stephen LaTona secured the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award from the league's sports information directors.
  • LC's Comeback Falls a Second Short in NCAA Men's Lacrosse First Round

    A potential game-tying goal was waved off as the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team nearly rallied from a seven-goal deficit Wednesday at fifth-ranked Gettysburg College, but fell 8-7 in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Division III Lacrosse Tournament.
  • W&L Grinds Out Victory Over Sewanee in NCAA Men's Lacrosse First Round

    Washington and Lee outscored Sewanee 6-2 in the second half to pull away for a 9-5 victory over the Tigers in the opening round of the NCAA Division III men's lacrosse tournament on Wednesday evening at Wilson Field.
  • Lynchburg Joins W&L in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament

    Washington and Lee University, champions of the ODAC postseason tournament and owners of the conference's automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament, will have company in representing the league on the national stage. Lynchburg College, which fell to W&L on Sunday in the ODAC title game, earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
  • Washington and Lee Captures ODAC Men's Lacrosse Title

    The second-seeded Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team scored four goals in the opening 3:59 of the fourth period to pull away for a 10-7 win over fourth-seeded Lynchburg College in the ODAC Championship game on Sunday at Kerr Stadium. The win gives the Generals their 10th ODAC title all-time and their first since the 2009 season.

This week also marks the final ODAC weekly awards, with those going to Alicia Hsieh, a women's lacrosse standout from Randolph-Macon, and Aaron Murphy, a men's lacrosse star from Lynchburg.
  • ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament Pairings Announced

    Roanoke College and Washignton and Lee University finished with matching 8-1 records in conference men's lacrosse action, but it will be the Maroons that occupy the top seed as RC's head-to-head victory over the Generals locked up top billing in the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. Roanoke will also serve as host for the semifinals and finals at Kerr Stadium in Salem.

  • Lynchburg Favored in ODAC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

    Lynchburg College, the 2015 NCAA Division III runner-up and reigning ODAC champion, is favored to again top the conference standings as the Hornets received nine first place votes towards 81 total points to lead the ODAC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll. Roanoke College sits second with 72 tallies and the remaining top nod from the league's head coaches. Washington and Lee University rounds out the top-three with 60 points.
  • LC's Koudelka Named USILA Division III Coach of the Year

    Lynchburg College head coach Steve Koudelka highlights a trio of awards earned by ODAC coaches from the USILA as the Hornets' mentor was tabbed the NCAA Division III Coach of the Year. Former LC lead assistant Chris Perzinski was named the Assistant Coach of the Year, and longtime Hampden-Sydney College mentor Ray Rostan received the Frenchy Julien Service Award.
  • LC's Koudelka Honored with James "Ace" Adams Sportsmanship Award

    Lynchburg College head men's lacrosse coach Steve Koudelka was honored by the US Lacrosse Men's Collegiate Officials Committee Thursday with the James "Ace Adams" Sportsmanship Award. Initiated in 2006, the awards are presented annually to the college or university in each of the 11 officiating districts whose coaches, players, and fans exhibit the best sportsmanship throughout the season.
  • H-SC's Rostan Announces Retirement Following 2016 Season

    Hampden-Sydney head lacrosse coach Ray Rostan has announced his plans to retire following the 2016 season after serving the college for over three decades. Rostan will be entering his 40th season as a collegiate coach and his 32nd as the head coach of the Tigers, where he has had an extraordinary career.
