Gomez, a senior from Valparaiso, Chile, extended his goal-scoring streak to four games with three goals in Guilford's two ODAC contests last week.  In the first game of the week, Gomez scored twice in the Quakers' 4-1 win over Emory & Henry.  He followed that with his league-best 10th tally of the year in a 2-1 road loss to Bridgewater.  Gomez moved into second place among Guilford's career leaders in goals with 40, five shy of the school record.

Men's Soccer Honor Roll

Sawyer Janes, Bridgewater (Va.) - (Jr, F - Waynesboro, Va., 4)
Janes scored both goals Tuesday evening to help lift the Eagles to a 2-1 victory over rival Eastern Mennonite in ODAC action. Janes scored the only goal of the first half for a 1-0 BC lead and the Eagles held that advantage until the 87th when EMU scored the tying goal. With just 22 seconds left, Janes scored the game-winner after receiving a pass from Ryan Tavernaris. The Eagles had two victories (also beat Guilford, 2-1) on the week to hold onto first place in the conference standings.

Christian Rhine, East. Mennonite - (Fr, F - Palmyra, PA, 7)
Rhine gave EMU a 1-0 lead on Friday against Roanoke with a goal just 8:38 in. He dribbled through no less than three RC defenders before pulling out the keeper and scoring his fifth netter of the year. Rhine is tied for fifth in the ODAC in goals, and is tied for the lead among league freshmen.

Robert Stephens, Hampden-Sydney - (So, F - Williamsburg, VA, 18)
In a 1-1 week for H-SC, Stephens recorded his first career hat trick and his first three goals of the season against Shenandoah on Saturday night. Stephens scored in the 43rd minute courtesy of a feed from Leo Kowalski. He then found the back of the net again in the 63rd minute when James Lawrence found him for the score. He completed the hat trick off a header at 72:52 as Kowalski provided his second assist on the night.

Michael Releford, Lynchburg - (Jr, G - Blacksburg, VA, 1)
Releford continued his impressive season in net, not allowing a goal in two games this week. Both games this past week, a pair of 0-0 ties with Roanoke and Washington & Lee, played thru double-overtime, with the junior keeping logging each minute and making eight total saves. The co-captain has not allowed a goal in 513 minutes.

Corey Sindle, Randolph - (Jr, F - Gloucester, VA, 7)
Sindle helped the WildCats to a 1-1 week, scoring two goals in a come-from-behind victory over Hampden-Sydney College Wednesday. Sindle headed in a cross to knot the score in the second half, before finishing a free kick for the game-winner. Saturday at Virginia Wesleyan, he led the team in shots with four. On the season, he is in the ODAC's top five in goals.

Mark Strelow, Roanoke - (Jr, F - Roanoke, VA, 6)
Strelow scored three points in Roanoke's 1-0-1 week. He scored one goal and one assist in the 2-1 victory over Eastern Mennonite. Strelow's goal turned out to be the game-deciding score for the Maroons.

Jake Burtch, Va. Wesleyan - (FR, GK - Virginia Beach, 00)
Burtch played in goal for the first time since Sept. 28 and helped VWC pin a 1-0 upset on defending ODAC champion Randolph College. Burtch made a diving stop that robbed the Wildcats' of their best shot at scoring in the 22nd to help preserve the win in the Marlins only contest of the week. Burtch finished with a season-high seven saves to help VWC avenge a pair of one goal losses to the Wildcats last year.
