Kearns, a senior from Broad Run, Va., played with his head in two different ways as the attacking midfielder scored three times via headers to help Lynchburg to a pair of ODAC victories last week. Kearns, who has proven to be an adept "swiss army knife" in his career in the Hill City after starting off as an All-ODAC outside back and moving to the front lines in recent seasons, opened his week with the first goal in a 2-0 win at Roanoke. He finished off a feed from Brennan Lagana with a highlight-worthy diving header to the near post in the fifth minute. On the weekend, Kearns registered his first career multi-goal game with two more aerial tallies in a 5-3 victory over Ferrum. He turned Kenny Robles' cross into an assist with a well-placed header in the 16th minute for a 1-0 lead, and then made it 2-0 Hornets with a 36th minute header from a Zach Whelan service. For the season, Kearns has scored four goals with a pair of assists for 10 points.
