  • Bhayle Kearns, Lynchburg, Sr., Midfielder
    October 11, 2021
Kearns, a senior from Broad Run, Va., played with his head in two different ways as the attacking midfielder scored three times via headers to help Lynchburg to a pair of ODAC victories last week. Kearns, who has proven to be an adept "swiss army knife" in his career in the Hill City after starting off as an All-ODAC outside back and moving to the front lines in recent seasons, opened his week with the first goal in a 2-0 win at Roanoke. He finished off a feed from Brennan Lagana with a highlight-worthy diving header to the near post in the fifth minute. On the weekend, Kearns registered his first career multi-goal game with two more aerial tallies in a 5-3 victory over Ferrum. He turned Kenny Robles' cross into an assist with a well-placed header in the 16th minute for a 1-0 lead, and then made it 2-0 Hornets with a 36th minute header from a Zach Whelan service. For the season, Kearns has scored four goals with a pair of assists for 10 points.
  • Griffin Potter, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Goalkeeper
    October 04, 2021
Potter, a senior from Manchester, Md., kept a clean sheet in two Marlins victories last week as he made 12 saves across the two contest. Potter made three saves during the midweek as Virginia Wesleyan earned a 2-0 result at Methodist University. Then in ODAC play, he kept a clean sheet for 110 minutes with nine saves in keeping previously unblemished Randolph College off the scoresheet for the first time this season in a 0-0 draw. It is the fourth time this season that Potter has registered nine or more saves in a game. He is currently second in the ODAC in both saves (61) and save percentage (.871). September 27, 2021
Blow, a senior from Charlottesville, Va., continued his torrid start to the 2021 fall season with nine points in a pair of Randolph wins last week to help the WildCats improve to 7-0-0 in the league table. Blow, the reigning ODAC Player of the Year, scored twice and dished out an assist in a 4-1 victory over Southern Virginia University during the midweek. Twice he turned Kyle May passes into assists, finishing off one chance in the 55th minute for a 2-0 advantage and then again in the 63rd minute for a 3-0 lead. He then assisted Tucker Leverone on the game's final goal in the 76th minute. Blow registered his third straight and fourth overall brace of the season in a 4-3 extra-time victory over Bridgewater in both school's ODAC openers. He needed less than five minutes to put the WildCats ahead, 1-0, as he finished off a through-ball from Leverone. He then forced extra time by converting from the penalty spot with a left foot in the 86th minute. On the season, Blow leads the ODAC in points (26) and goals scored (11). He has scored at least one goal and posted no fewer than three points in each game this season.
  • David Franco, Bridgewater, Fy., Midfielder
    September 20, 2021
Franco, a first-year from Culpeper, Va., was both prolific and clutch in posting a five-goal week over two victories for Bridgewater, the club's first wins of the season. Franco not only opened his collegiate account against Southern Virginia on Tuesday, but he tripled the profits with his first hat trick in a 7-0 offensive explosion against the Knights. Each of his tallies came in the second half, building upon BC's 1-0 halftime edge with the squad's second, third, and fifth goals inside of nine minutes of each other. Franco again found himself on the scoresheet multiple times with both goals in a 2-1 victory over York College (Pa.). He needed just 3:37 of game time to turn Simon Brun's pass into an assist for the first goal. He then posted an unassisted goal for a 2-0 lead in the 35th minute to provide the margin necessary to withstand the Spartans' late score in the 80th minute.
  • Scott Signorelli, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Forward
    September 13, 2021
Signorelli, a senior from Newport News, Va., helped the Marlins stay undefeated (4-0) in the early season as Virginia Wesleyan rattled off a pair of non-conference wins. He again beat the keeper midway thru the second half as he converted a pass from Nate Mitchell for a 3-0 advantage in the 65th minute. The story was a little different in the Marlins 2-1 victory over Greensboro. One goal by each side in regulation forced extra time. Signorelli twice evaded defenders with aerial balls with the latter finding the path of Alex Moody, who finished across goal with his left foot beyond a diving keeper in the 93rd minute. The five points this week marked the first for Signorelli on the season.
  • Brennan Lagana, Lynchburg, So., Forward
    September 07, 2021

Lagana opened the 2021 slate with his second career multi-goal game -- his previous was in the spring 2021 ODAC championship -- helping the Hornets to a 4-1 win over Covenant. He was again on the scoresheet in a 4-1 victory over Greensboro as he found the back of the net and registered his first collegiate assist against the Pride.
