Freeman, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., was W&L’s most consistent player during a 2-2 week for the Generals. He posted a 3-1 record in singles, defeating Lynchburg’s Kristian Richardson at No. 1 on Tuesday by a score of 6-0, 6-0. He then fell to Chicago’s Harrison Adams at No. 5 singles on Wednesday, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, before defeating Johns Hopkins’ Michael Chang at No. 6 singles on Saturday, 6-2, 6-2. He capped his week on Sunday with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Malikm Mubeen of Swarthmore at No. 5 singles. For the season, Freeman has posted an 11-4 record while playing a variety of singles positions.

Brent Floyd, Bridgewater, Sophomore, #5 Singles/#3
Doubles
Floyd continued his Spring unbeaten streak with a pair of
victories on the week. Floyd got the week started with a 6-0, 6-1
win over Averett’s Perry Bason. Floyd rounded out his week
with a victory over Emory & Henry’s Ethan Brooks on
Saturday in 6-3, 6-3 fashion. On the season, Floyd is a perfect 9-0
in singles play. He was 1-1 in doubles action on the week,
postign a victory against Averett.
Shad Harrell, Hampden-Sydney, Junior, #3 Singles/#2
Doubles
Harrell went 1-0 this week in both singles and
doubles. In Monday’s matchup against Roanoke College,
Harrell won his doubles match 8-1, and then continued his
impressive play in a 6-2, 6-0 win over James Lee. On the
season, Harrell is 4-1 in both singles and doubles.
