Michael Holt, Washington and Lee, Sr., #1 Singles/#1 Doubles

Holt, a senior from Henrico, Va., helped the Generals to a 5-4 team win over 15th-ranked Mary Washington in a matchup of nationally-ranked programs.  Holt, ranked 46th on the ITA's singles charts, took on 32nd-ranked Brandon Griffin at #1 singles.  Holt registered a 6-2, 7-6 triumph.  He and teammate Jordan Krasner scored an 8-4 victory over Griffin and Max Fritsch at #1 doubles.  For the yeah, Holt is 12-2 in singles action and 5-8 in doubles play.

Men's Tennis Honor Roll

Aaron Smedley, Guilford (Jr. - 4/1)
Smedley posted a pair of singles wins and went 1-1 in doubles play in GC's 1-1 week.  He scored #4 singles victories over Averett and Shenanoah by 6-2, 1-6, 10-7 and 6-1, 6-0 set scores.  He and Erik Meiler won 8-4 vs. SU, but fell 9-7 against AU.

Baxter Carter, Randolph-Macon (So. - 4/1)
Carter scored a 6-1, 6-0 singles win at the fourth flight and teamed with John Adam for an 8-1 at #1 doubles in the Yellow Jackets 9-0 victory over Penn St.-Abington.

Kenneth Downing, Virginia Wesleyan (Jr. - 2/2)
Downing captured two points with wins at #2 singles and #2 doubles in the Marlins 9-0 victory over Fairmont.  He won 6-0, 6-0 in singles play and joined Tyler Chang for an 8-0 win in doubles action.
