Hensley, a freshman from Elkton, Va., picks up her second weekly award of the season after batting .727 to help the Lady Royals go 3-1.  For the week she was 8-of-11 at the plate, including a homerun and a double, as she knocked in four runs and scored twice.  She also had a slugging percentage of 1.091. From her customary second slot in the line-up, Hensley went 3-for-3 in game two against Roanoke with her second homer of the year.  She blasted a three-run shot in a five-run fifth as the women erased a 4-1 deficit in an 8-4 win.  Against Randolph, Hensley was 5-for-8 from the plate and swiped a base.  She was also a defensive stalwart at shortstop, not committing an error in 11 chances.  For the season, the strong-armed Hensley has a .949 fielding percentage in 118 chances.  She also leads the EMU regulars with a .472 batting average and has a .629 slugging percentage.  She is also second in the ODAC in batting and is in the top 13 in runs, hits, RBIs, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.

Ami Hutcherson, Guilford, Senior, 3rd Base
Hutcherson had five hits in her at-bats in the Quakers’ 3-1 week, including a double… tallied a team-high .455 batting average with two RBIs… went 2-for-3 in both of the Quakers’ conference wins over Virginia Wesleyan… has hit safely in 15 of her last 17 games… has 15 multiple-hit games this season, one shy of the team lead.

Lauren Stevenson, Randolph, Sophomore, Outfielder
Stevenson continued hot hitting of late by going 10-for-16 (.625) for the week, leading the WildCat softball team to a 3-1 showing. Against Southern Virginia, Stevenson was three-for-four in both games of a doubleheader sweep of the Knights. In the twinbill, she stole three bases, scored three runs and tripled in the second game. Against EMU Sunday, Stevenson added another pair of multi-hit affairs, going four-for-eight on the afternoon with a double, triple, three runs scored and a RBI. She made all of her plays in left field this week, and now has a hit in 26 of her last 27 games.
