Kristina Karagiorgis, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Pitcher

Karagiorgis, a junior from Ashburn, Pa., won four times and record her first save of the season as she helped Virginia Wesleyan to a 6-0 week.  She went the distance to get a 5-0 win over William Peace to open the week, give up two hits and walking five with four strikeouts.  She followed that with five innings towards the win in game one against EMU, an 8-3 triumph.  She gave up three runs (two earned) aon four hits with no walks and six strikeouts.  She went three innings to start game two, giving up just one hit with a walk and two punchouts in a 14-0 shortened victory.  Karagiorgios picked up the save in a 1-0 win at Bridgewater in game one.  She worked the final three innings, giving up just one hit with four strikeouts.  She started and went three innings in a second shortened victory, giving up three hits with five strikeouts towards an 8-0 win.  Karagiorgis leads the league in wins with 16 as she's now 16-4 with a conference-best 1.10 earned run average in 108.0 innings pitched.  Her 103 strikeouts are second in the league.

Softball Pitching Honor Roll

Brianna Cox, Bridgewater (So., P - Bumpass, Va.)
Cox went 3-1 in four appearances last week, throwing 24.0 total innings.  She went the distance to get a 7-1 win at Lynchburg, giving up one run on three hits.  She followed that with three innings for a 9-0 shortened win against Southern Virginia.  She gave up just one hit and fanned two.  She picked up her third win of the week with seven strong frames of an 8-3 triumph against Randolph-Macon.  She gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits with four walks and two strikeouts.  Her final outing was in a 1-0 hard-luck loss to Virginia Wesleyan.  She gave up one unearned run on three hits with three walks in seven innings.

Brandy Bryant, Emory & Henry (Jr., P - Salem, Va.)
Bryant went 2-0 with a save in three outings for E&H last week.  She picked up the save in game one against SU, getting the final out of a 10-8 win.  She went the distance in game two to get a 4-1 win.  She gave up one unearned run on six hits with one walk and four K's.  He last start came against Guilford where she won, 8-4.  She gave up four runs on 11 hits with one strikeout in 6.2 innings in the circle.

Maggie Shaffer, Guilford (So., P - Horsham, Pa.)
Shaffer went 1-2 in four appearances for the Quakers.  She took a tough 1-0 loss to Meredith to open the week, going seven innings and giving up one run one two hits with five strikeouts.  She worked 2.2 innings in game two of that series, giving up four his with two K's.  Fell in an 8-0 loss at Lynchburg, surrendering eight runs (four earned) on eight hits in 4.1 innings of work.  She ended the week on a high note, tossing a complete game to beat E&H, 3-1.  She gave up one run on five hits with four strikeouts.

Hope Johnson, Lynchburg (Jr., P - Evington, Va.)
Johnson went 2-0 with a pair of complete games in three apperances last week.  She came on in relief in a 7-1 loss to Bridgewater, giving up two runs on six hits in four innings.  She got the win in an 8-0 shortened victory against Guilford, giving up just three hits with five strikeouts in five innings.  She fanned nine Maroons in an eight-inning complete game win, 1-0, at Roanoke on Sunday.  She against surrendered just three hits. 

Logan Carter, Randolph (Sr., P - Richmond, Va.)
Carter went 3-0 last week, picking up three conference wins.  In a 9-0 win at Sweet Briar, she threw six no-hit innings with a program-record 12 strikeouts.  She worked 4.1 innings against Roanoke to get a 12-11 win.  She gave up three unearned runs on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts.  She came back to start game two and won 5-0 with five innings of shutout ball.  She gave up three hits and struck out five.  Carter is second in the ODAC with 14 wins. 

Kelsey McLaughlin, Randolph-Macon (Fr., P - Richmond, Va.)
McLaughlin went 2-1 last week in 16.0 innings of work.  She started the week with a 13-1 win at Sweet Briar.  She gave up one run on one hit with six strikeouts in five innings.  She took an 8-3 loss at Bridgewater as she gave up eight runs (three earned) on 12 hits in six innings.  She finishd with an 11-1 win at Eastern Mennonite.  She surrendered one run on six hits in five innings in the circle.
