Candace Whittemore, Randolph-Macon, Fr., Pitcher

Whittemore, a freshman from Montpelier, Va., picked up three wins and four appearances last week to help the Yellow Jackets to four wins in those contests.  Whittemore went the distance in her three starts, striking out 19 batters and allowing just one earned run in 23.1 innings of work.  In a 6-3 win over Washington College, she gave up three runs, one earned, on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts in seven innings.  After striking out the lone batter she faced in game one against Susquehanna, Whittemore, twirled a shutout in game two, scattering six hits with one walk and seven punchouts in seven frames in the circle.  She capped her week with a nine-inning 6-5 victory over Franklin & Marshall.  She gave up five unearned runs on six hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.  For the season, Whittemore is 6-2 with a 2.23 earned run average in 53.1 innings of work.  She leads the ODAC with 46 strikeouts and three shutouts.

Lauren Seale, Eastern Mennonite (So.)
Seale went 1-1 in four appearances last week, giving up four runs and 12 hits while striking out 26 in 16.2 innings of work.  In an 8-0 win over PSU-Altoona, She gave up just one hit and set a career-high with 10 strikeouts in a five-inning shortened complete game.

Casey Snead, Guilford (Sr.)
Snead went 1-0 in two appearances last week, picking up a relief win in a 10-1 decision over Wilson.  She worked 3.1 scoreless innings in that contest, fanning four and not allowing a hit.  She did walk one.  She worked three hitless innings in a 9-1 victory over SVU, walking one.

Conner English, Lynchburg (So.)
English went 1-2 in three starts among her four appearances last week.  She got the win in a 10-0 five inning victory over New Paltz St., giving just one hit and fanning five in three innings of work.  She picked up a tough loss in a 2-1 setback to Capital, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits with three strikeouts in a complete game effort.

Lindsey Chaney, Randolph (Fr.)
Chaney went 2-1 i nthree starts last week, giving up five runs with only one earn in 20.0 innings in the circle.  She fanned 19 overall, including 10 with just one hit allowed in a 3-0 complete game shutout of DeSales.  She went five shutout innings in a 7-2 win in game two against DSU, scattering four hits and walking one while striking out seven.  She went eight innings in a 5-3 loss to Salem, giving up five runs (one earned) on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Ruthie Williams, Roanoke (So.)
Williams picked up the win in game two against Averett, working six innings of the 5-2 decision.  She gave up two runs on six hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Kandis Kresinske, Virginia Wesleyan (Fr.)
Kresinske went 1-0 in two appearances last week, with her victory coming in a shortened six-inning complete game effort in a 10-1 win over #24 Kean.  She gave up one run on four hits in that contest, walking three and fanning five.  She also work 3.1 shuotut innings of relief in a 6-2 loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.  She gave up two hits and walked three while striking out four in that outing.
