Rhoads, a senior from Portsmouth, Va., surrendered just three hits and fanned 21 batters over 14.0 innings in the circle nationally 20th-ranked Randolph-Macon extended its winning streak to seven games last week. Rhoads opened with a full seven frames in a 2-1 victory over Eastern Mennonite University. She gave up one unearned run on two hits. She walked one and fanned 10 Royals. She set down each of the first six batters she faced, including four via punchout. She then returned 11-of-12 batters thru the middle innings with that lone baserunner coming via a wild pitch after a strikeout. Rhoads was nearly unhittable in a 4-0 win over Mary Washington in her second game of the week. She gave up a lone hit and walked a pair with 11 strikeouts in a full seven innings. She retired each of the first 12 Eagles she faced before walking the lead-off batter in the fifth inning. For the season, Rhoads is 5-2 with four complete games and an ODAC-best three shutouts in seven appearances, all starts. She owns a 2.12 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 39.2 innings of work. Her 10.24 strikeouts per game lead the conference. Opponents are hitting only .157 against her, the second-lowest average in the league.
