EMU's Rheinheimer, GC's Flamini Lead ODAC Women's Basketball Awards

E&H's Blevins Named Top Rookie

FOREST, Va. --- Eastern Mennonite University forward Jess Rheinheimer collected two major honors from the ODAC head coaches for the second straight year, headlining the ODAC women's basketball awards as the ODAC Player of the Year and the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete.  Guilford College mentor Stephanie Flamini was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, while Emory & Henry College guard Taylor Blevins picked up ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels.

The All-ODAC teams feature 10 players that received honors in the 2015, including each member of the first team.  Rheinhiemer and Randolph-Macon College forward Katie Anderson repeat as top selections.  Roanoke College forward Cary Beahm, Lynchburg College forward Chaney Forbush, and Guilford forward Anais Weatherly slid up the ladder from the second team, while Bridgewater College guard Cassidy Burkholder made the leap from the third team.

Rheinheimer, a senior from Manheim, Pa., collects the ODAC player of the year and scholar-athlete awards for the second straight season.  The 2015 Jostens Trophy winner ranks second in the ODAC in overall points scored (495) and points per game (19.8) entering the conference postseason.  She is also averaging 6.7 rebounds per night and shoots 48.0-percent (177-of-369) from the field.  She has canned 50 three-pointers, good for fifth in the ODAC, and sits third in free throw percentage (82.7% -- 91-of-110).  Rheinheimer has scored in double figures in 23-of-25 games played, including 35 points in a win over Bridgewater.  She's also notched three double-doubles.

An Academic All-American, Rheinheimer boasts a 3.95 grade point average as a Nursing major with a minor in History.  The perennial EMU Dean's List honoree is a finalist for the WBCA Good Works Team and will again be in the running for the Jostens Trophy, which honored Rheinheimer as the top NCAA Division III women's basketball student-athlete in the country last season. A member of the EMU Student Nurses Association, she has previously studied abroad in Honduras.

Flamini enjoys her first ODAC top coaching honor as she continues her 13th season at Guilford. Picked sixth in the ODAC women's basketball preseason poll, Flamini has her squad positioned as the second seed entering the ODAC Tournament following a 19-4 run during the regular season.  That includes a 13-3 record against league foes, which features a season-sweep of top-seeded Lynchburg College.  Flamini currently boasts a 261-183 overall record in 17 years, including a 203-142 mark at Guilford.

Blevins, a freshman from Abingdon, Va., adds the ODAC's top rookie award with an All-ODAC Second Team accolade.  Blevins is averaging 12.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, the latter ranking second in the ODAC.  She is also second in field goal shooting at 57.4-percent (124-of-217) and seventh with 21 blocked shots.  She is third in the ODAC with 10 double-doubles.  Blevins scored in double figures in 15 games, including a career-best 28 points with 10 rebounds against top-tier NAIA opponent Pikeville College.
