FOREST, Va. --- Virginia Wesleyan University guard Jayla Harris and Guilford College mentor Stephanie Flamini headline the 2019 All-ODAC Women's Basketball Awards, as announced by the ODAC Wednesday morning. Harris earned ODAC Player of the Year laurels, while Flamini was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year.

Washington and Lee University guard Erin Hughes received the first ODAC Defensive Player of the Year honor. Guilford forward Lindsay Gauldin collected ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades, while Bridgewater College guard Briana Moore earned ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete recognition.

For the second straight year, eight players on this season's All-ODAC lists appeared on the 2018 chart. VWU's Harris and Emory & Henry College forward Taylor Blevins repeat as All-ODAC First Team selections with Harris picking up her third first-team honor. BC's Moore, GC forward Miracle Walters, and University of Lynchburg forward Molly Shephard each moved up from last year's All-ODAC Second Team. E&H forward Sydney McKinney repeats on the second team, while Randolph-Macon College forward Charlotte Woods moves to the second team from the All-ODAC Third Team. Shenandoah University forward Ashley Stone appears on the third team for a second straight season.

Harris, a senior from Fredericksburg, Va., recently became the Marlins all-time career scoring leader. Her 1,912 points entering the tournament snapped a 33-year old record held by Amy Simpson. Harris currently leads the ODAC in scoring at 21.2 points per game and total points at 530. Both numbers are career-bests. She also leads the ODAC in field goals made (193-of-458) and free throws made (101-of-121), is fourth in minutes per game (34.8) and minutes played (870), and fifth in free throw percentage (.835). Harris scored in double figures in 22-of-25 games played. Three times she cracked the 30-point mark with a season-best 34 tallies against Bridgewater in December. She registered 16 games of 20 points or more.

Flamini is currently in her 20th season as a collegiate head coach and 16th at Guilford. Her Quakers enter the ODAC Tournament as the top seed following at 16-2 run thru its league slate as part of a 20-5 overall record. This is the second ODAC top coaching award for Flamini, pairing it with the honor she earned in 2016. Flamini's career record currently stands at 325-201 (.618) overall and 267-160 (.625) at Guilford.

Hughes, a sophomore from from Raleigh, N.C., is the first recipient of the newly created ODAC Defensive Player of the Year award. She pairs this honor with an All-ODAC Second Team selection. Hughes routinely guards players on the perimeter as well as on the interior in each game as she is capable of defending players at all positions. Entering the ODAC Tournament, Hughes is second in the ODAC with 66 steals and ninth with 27 blocked shots. She has registered 10 games of three or more steals including a season-high eight swipes in a non-conference win over Mary Washington. She record seven games of two blocked shots or more including a season-best six rejections in a win over Bridgewater in January.

Gauldin, a first-year from Stokesdale, N.C., stepped right into the Quakers starting lineup for all 25 games and quickly grew into a role as a primary offensive option. Gauldin enters the tournament 11th in the ODAC in scoring (13.5) and third in rebounding (10.1). She is second in both total rebounds (252) and defensive boards (176), while ranking third in offensive rebounds (76). She is second in free throws made (100-of-136) and fourth in field goal shooting (.547; 111-of-203). She is also third in steals (62). Gauldin has registered 11 double-doubles on the season.

Moore, a senior from Waynesboro, Va., stars both on and off the floor as she pairs this honor with an All-ODAC First Team selection. The computer science major with a Spanish minor maintains a 4.0 grade point average. She earned First Team Academic All-America status a season ago in addition to CoSIDA Academic All-District. She is a three-time ODAC All-Academic selection as well as a consistent member of the Bridgewater Dean's List. On the court, Moore is third in the ODAC in scoring (16.9) and second in overall points (440). She is second in field goals made (158-of-347), three-pointers made (67-of-148), and three-point percentage (.453).
