    University of Lynchburg forward Abby Oguich and Roanoke College point guard Whitney Hopson headline the 2021 All-ODAC Women's Basketball Awards. Oguich earned ODAC Player of the Year honors while Hopson was tabbed the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year. Lynchburg interim head coach Katie Crump earned ODAC Coach of the Year laurels from her peers, while Randolph College playmaker Kylie Stark took home ODAC Rookie of the Year recognition. Shenandoah University forward Olivia Weinel received ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors from the conference's athletic communications personnel.
  • Lynchburg Captures Second ODAC Women's Basketball Title

    The University of Lynchburg and Roanoke College did not disappoint in their first-ever meeting in the ODAC women's basketball championship game on Thursday evening in Lynchburg's Turner Gymnasium. The Hornets fast-start and late-push was met by the Maroons timely outside shooting in the Lynchburg's 67-61 triumph to lift their second ODAC women's basketball trophy.

    The largest reporting day of the season kicks off Week 7 of ODAC weekly awards. While this is the final report for basketball and swimming ahead of their postseason events this week, baseball and softball continue with the addition of football, lacrosse, and tennis augmenting this week's honorees.   • ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament | 10-Team Field Announced

    The ODAC women's basketball season continues this week with the annual conference postseason tournament. This year's field features 10 tournament teams. Bridgewater College enters as the tournament's top seed after going 4-0 thru its conference schedule. The University of Lynchburg, Washington and Lee University, and Roanoke College round out the top-four seeds, respectively.

  • ODAC Announces Adjustments to Basketball Tournament Formats

    Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) leadership has voted to expand the ODAC men’s and women’s basketball tournament formats slated to begin in March. The alteration to the formats is driven by a desire to provide additional competitive opportunities for the league’s programs.

    In this edition of ODAC Chat, we sat down with Jennifer King, a former two-sport standout at Guilford College and current assistant running backs coach with the NFL's Washington Football Team. King's promotion to that position was announced on Friday, January 22, which made her the first full-time African-American female coach in NFL history. J.J. and Jennifer talked about her journey to his point in her NFL career, some interesting aspects of coaching in the pros vs. college, her time at Guilford, and the achievements of her early career in coaching women's basketball in college...which includes a national title at Johnson & Wales University (N.C.).

  • ODAC Women's Basketball Poll | Roanoke Leads Congested Trio at the Top

    It has been a long time coming, but the ODAC women's basketball season is set to get underway this week. The sprint to the ODAC Tournament begins on Thursday, and the league's head coaches conducted their annual ODAC Women's Basketball Coaches Poll to give us some insight into who might be vying for the conference hardware. As is true most ODAC seasons, parity rings true throughout the survey, albeit with a top-heavy group separating from the pack. Roanoke College leads the charge after collecting 112 points and six first place votes, but only 10 points separate the first three positions. Washington and Lee University and Bridgewater College split the remaining six top nods with three apiece. The Generals sit second with 106 markers, while the Eagles slot third with 102 tallies.
