Kayla Surles, Hollins, So., Guard

Surles, a sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., led Hollins University to pair of ODAC wins last week. It is the first time Hollins has posted back-to-back ODAC wins in December in over a decade. Surles was a strong scorer and playmaker as she averaged 18.0 points per game and 8.5 assists per game while shooting .458 from the field. She had a 5.6 assist-to-turnover ratio at 17-3. Surles opened with 17 points, two rebounds, and nine assists with just one turnover in an 82-68 victory over Washington and Lee. She was 5-of-11 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line. Surles went for 19 points with a trio of made three-pointers and 4-of-4 from the stripe in a 71-63 win at Virginia Wesleyan. She added two rebounds, eight assists, and a pair of steals. For the season, Surles is third in the ODAC in scoring (15.9) and first in assists (45). Her 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio is second in the league. She is fourth in three-point shooting (.405) and fifth in total points (111) and three-pointers made (15-of-37).
