Jennings, a junior from Suffolk, Va., was named the MVP of the TownBanke Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Virginia Wesleyan after she helped the Marlins get off the mark for their first two victories of the season. Jennings averaged 18 points and 5.7 rebounds while dishing out 15 assists with six steals in a 2-1 overall showing for the week. She opened with 16 points on 6-of-10 from the field in a 77-54 loss to Bridgewater in the first ODAC contests of the season. She was 2-of-5 from three-point range and added four rebounds and three assists. Against N.C. Wesleyan in the Marlins first game of the TowneBank Tip-Off Tournament, Jennings provided the winning three-pointer as the buzzer sounded for a 65-62 victory. She isolated her defender at the top of the key off an in-bounds play and drilled the game-deciding bucket from well-behind the line as the red lights flashed on the backboard. She was 7-of-12 from the field including 5-of-8 from deep. She added nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals to her stat line. Jennings capped her week with 17 points in a 63-60 overtime win against Meredith. She made up for a 3-for-13 shooting day with a 10-of-13 showing at the foul line. She added four rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and a blocked shot. Through the first five games of the season, Jennings is averaging 15.8 points and 4.4 rebounds her outing. She is second in the ODAC in three-pointers made (14-of-34) and third in assists (20). Her 79 points scored rank fourth in the league.
