  • Valles Repeats as IWLCA All-American
    May 27, 2010
    Roanoke midfielder Gina Valles earned her second All-America award in as many seasons through an annual vote by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). The only ODAC student-athlete on the list, Valles improved upon her 2009 second team showing as she was named to the 2010 IWLCA All-America First Team.
  • Generals Fall to Etown in First Round

    Washington and Lee University saw its comeback bid fall a goal short as the Generals fell to Elizabethtown College, 13-12, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament. Washington and Lee trailed 13-9 with just under eight minutes to play, but went on a 3-0 run to pull within one with 2:43 to go, one short of forcing overtime.
  • NCAA Announces Women's Lax Bracket

    Washington and Lee will be the only representative from the ODAC in the 2010 NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, as announced in the tourney’s selection show on Sunday evening. The Generals, ranked 15th in the nation, defeated Lynchburg, 14-6, to claim its 11th conference crown. W&L opens with Elizabethtown in the NCAA first round.

    RC's Gina Valles secured her second straight ODAC Player of the Year award as part of the 2010 ODAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Teams. LC head coach Bruce Reid earned the league’s top coaching award, and VWC's Nikki Salyers was tabbed the ODAC Rookie of the Year. WLU's Emmy Mathews was selected as the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete.
  • Generals Win Women's Lacrosse Title

    The top-seeded and 15th-ranked Washington and Lee women’s lacrosse team opened with seven unanswered goals and never looked back as it claimed its eighth ODAC Championship in the last 10 years with a 14-6 victory over Lynchburg College in the conference title game on Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
  • ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Set

    Washington and Lee University and Roanoke College posted a combined 15-1 record in ODAC play, earning them the top two seeds and first round byes in the 2010 ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament. The Generals (11-4 overall, 8-0 ODAC) enter as the top seed with the Maroons (9-6, 7-1) occupying the second seed.
  • Roanoke Tops Women's Lacrosse Poll

    Roanoke received eight out of nine possible first place votes and 78 total poll points as the Maroons headline the 2010 ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll. Washington and Lee ranks second with 70 tallies while Virginia Wesleyan rounds out the top three with 56 points. The remaining first place nod went to Lynchburg , which occupies the fifth spot in the poll.
  • Generals Send Care Packages to Troops

    The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Washington and Lee is working with groups across campus and within the community to assemble and send 500 care packages to soldiers in Afghanistan.
