A Dozen Earn All-Chesapeake Region Honors
GRAND LAKE, Colo. --- Guilford College
attack E'leyna Garcia and Washington and Lee University attack
Margaret Klein and defender Leanne Stone highlight the ODAC's
contingent of honored student-athletes by the Intercollegiate
Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Each standout earned
IWLCA Third Team All-American accolades, while nine other players
earned IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region laurels.

In addition to Garcia, Klein and Stone, three athletes picked up
first team all-region honors. Midfielder Eleanora Keene (57
G, 7 A, 25 caused turnovers) made it two Quakers on the first team.
Roanoke College also had a pair on the top list in midfielder
Darragh Evarts (65 G, 26 A) and attack Claire Feeney (58 G, 20
A).
The Generals added two more to the second team in midfielder Meade
Brewster (16 G, 7 A, 21 CT) and defender Olive Waxter (1 A, 24 CT),
while attack Allison Bonanno (49 G, 38 A) and midfielder Lily
Colley (73 G, 60 A, 21 CT) added more each for Roanoke and
Guilford, respectively. Shenandoah University goalkeeper
Ashley Cross (8.40 GAA, 175 saves, 53.5 save pct.) and
Randolph-Macon College midfielder Jenelle Whitman (54 G, 12 A, 24
CT) also received all-region recognition.
Garcia, a senior from Plantation, Fla., led the ODAC in goals
scored (86) for the second straight year. She entered this
week tied for third in NCAA Division III. The two-time
All-ODAC First Team honoree finished second in the conference with
102 total points, adding 20 assists to her stat line. Garcia
put together a stellar career in Greensboro. She sits second
in the ODAC record books with 287 career goals scored, just one off
the all-time mark. She's also third with 364 career
points.
Klein, a senior from North Andover, Mass., put together a
strong final campaign in Lexington as the ODAC Player of the Year
finished the season with 60 points. Klein notched 51 goals
and nine assists to lead the Generals to the top seed in the ODAC
Tournament and ultimately their 15th conference title. It
also marked W&L's fourth straight crown. Klein also did
work off the ball, picking up 22 ground balls and 20 draw controls
while causing 11 turnovers.
Stone, a senior from Darienne, Conn., led the Generals to their
fifth straight ODAC title by anchoring the league's best defense.
The Generals allowed an ODAC-low 151 goals and entered the
week as the 14th ranked defensive unit in the country. A
three-time All-ODAC First Team selection, Stone led the ODAC with
43 caused turnovers. She ranked in the conference's top-five
each of the past three seasons, finishing with 122 forced miscues
in her career.
