    First-year midfielder Alexandria Fitzpatrick scored with 4.7 seconds remaining in the first half of the second overtime, as The College of New Jersey, the nation's top-ranked team, defeated the second-ranked Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team, 5-4, on Saturday at Kerr Stadium in the NCAA Semifinals.

    Senior attacker Hayley Soutter (McLean, Va. / Langley) scored with 1:24 remaining in overtime to lead the Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team to a 7-6 victory over William Smith in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon at Watt Field.

    The Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team survived a four-hour, 12-minute weather delay and an early 3-0 deficit to defeat Catholic University by a score of 9-6 in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in Lexington.

    The Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team won its 13th consecutive game and tied the school record for wins in a season with an 8-2 victory over Mary Washington in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at Watt Field.

    Washington and Lee University standout Hayley Soutter and head coach Brooke O’Brien took home two major honors to highlight the 2017 All-ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Awards. Soutter earned ODAC Player of the Year laurels while O’Brien was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year. Roanoke College midfielder Morgan Barlow received ODAC Rookie of the Year recognition, and Randolph-Macon College defender Kristin Patrick garnered ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete accolades.

  • Washington and Lee Leads ODAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

    Washington and Lee University has won seven straight conference titles, and the league's coaches see the Generals as the favorite to add to that number with W&L leading the ODAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll. Washington and Lee earned nine first place votes on the way to a chart-topping 91 points. Randolph-Macon College picked up the remaining top nod towards 72 points to sit in second. Just two points separate Roanoke College and Lynchburg College for third, with the Maroons receiving 62 points.
  • Eastern Mennonite Set to Add Women's Lacrosse to its Athletic Program

    Eastern Mennonite University announces the addition of women’s lacrosse to its athletic program. Director of Athletics Dave King says EMU will hire a head coach in the spring of 2017 to begin recruitment, with competition beginning first at the club level before moving into the Old Dominion Athletic Conference for the 2018-19 season.
  • Eagles Select Shearer to Lead Women's Lacrosse Program
    July 13, 2016
    Colleen Shearer, a former Division I National Assistant Coach of the Year and national champion with the University of Virginia, has accepted the head women's lacrosse coach position at Bridgewater College. Shearer was previously the Associate Head Coach at the University of Virginia, and spent the past 19 seasons with the Cavaliers. UVA won the 2004 NCAA Division I national championship and also reached the title game in 1998, 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007.
