GINA VALLES, Roanoke, Junior - Midfield

Valles, a junior from South Windsor, Conn., scored 10 goals and dished out nine assists in two ODAC wins last week.  She notched an unofficial school-record 11 points with a career-high seven goals and four assists in a 16-5 win over Randolph-Macon.  Valles later netted three goals and passed out a career-high five assists in a 12-10 win over Virginia Wesleyan.

Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll

Carrie Ernst, Guilford, Senior - Midfield
Ernst led the Quakers in their lone game of the week with a team season-high seven points in a loss to Sewanee… she tallied a team-high five goals and two assists in the loss… Ernst also added a seven ground balls and six draw controls, both game highs… she set the school’s career draw controls record (147) in the game… Ernst also had two caused turnovers.

Lesley Buckingham, Lynchburg, Sophomore - Midfield
Buckingham tallied eight goals on only eight shots along with three draw controls, two groundballs, and two caused turnovers in two Hornet victories last week. In a 17-0 win against Randolph, she tallied three goals along with two draw controls, two ground balls, and two forced turnovers. In a 17-1 win against Sweet Briar, she posted five goals and one draw control. 

Laura Norris, Virginia Wesleyan, Senior - Attack
Norris improved her goal-scoring streak to five consecutive games and recorded at least one assist for the 11th consecutive game in a 1-1 week for the Marlins.  She scored three goals and had an assist in a tough 12-10 loss to defending ODAC champion Roanoke College and came back for two goals and four assists in a 20-2 win over Hollins University.  One of the national leaders in assists and points, Norris now has 31 assists and 67 points. She is only the fourth player in VWC history to record 30+ assists in a season and the first to do it since 2004.

Wilton Megargel, Washington and Lee, Junior - Attack
Megargel led the Generals in a 1-0 week, defeating 16th-ranked Catholic University, 10-9, on Wednesday. Megargel tallied a team-high four goals off of six shots (five on goal) while going 1-for-1 on free position shots. She also won two draw controls.  This season, Megargel has started all 12 games for the Generals while leading the team in points (31) and goals (25). She has also won 17 draw controls while collecting eight ground balls.
