Anthony, a freshman from Baltimore, Md., helped Hollins record its second straight victory, which proved to be the program's first ODAC win since the 2003 campaign. Anthony set a Hollins' record with 10 goals in the HU's 19-10 win over Randolph College last week. She missed tying the ODAC record by one goal. Anthony added one assist, five draw controls, four groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers. It marked her second straight impressive outing, following a six-goal outburst in a win over Agnes Scott.
Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll
Leslie Crawford, Bridgewater,
Senior, Attack
Crawford scored eight goals as the Eagles split a
pair of ODAC contests. Crawford scored five goals to help lead the
Eagles to a 17-11 win over Sweet Briar. The Eagles pushed Va.
Wesleyan to the limit in their second game of the week, just
missing the upset in a 12-11 loss. Crawford scored three goals to
lead the Eagles against the Marlins.
Summer Frazier, Guilford, Junior, Midfielder
Frazier recorded a career-high six goals and one assist for a
career-best 7 points in Guilford’s 18-16 victory over
Randolph-Macon…had three goals and an assist in the second
half… scored on six-of-nine shooting and also had a draw
control for the Quakers.
Christina Tran, Lynchburg, Junior, Goalkeeper
Tran had a save percentage of 65 percent last week in a pair
of ODAC games last week. She made 10 stops Wednesday in a 19-7 win
at Randolph Macon and followed up with 14 saves in a close loss to
conference-leader Washington & Lee Sunday 7-6. Tran had a
goals-against average of 6.96.
Emmy Mathews, Washington and Lee, Senior,
Midfielder
Mathews led the No. 14 Generals to the top of the ODAC standings
with a 7-6 victory over Lynchburg on Sunday evening. Mathews scored
all three of her goals in the second half as W&L held on for
the win to remain undefeated in conference play. Her three goals
were a team-high, and she also added two draw controls, three
ground balls and two caused turnovers while going 1-for-1 on free
position shots. Appearing in 11 contests this season, Mathews ranks
second on the team in scoring with 43 points (31g, 12a) and is tied
for the team lead in assists (12) and ground balls
(22).
