2014 Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

  • Lauren Procaccino, Washington and Lee, Fr., Attack

    Procaccino, a freshman from Manhasset, N.Y., led the Generals to a 3-0 win in ODAC play, which also saw them lock up the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament. Procaccino opened her week with a career-high five goals in a 20-4 win against Sweet Briar. She followed that with two goals and two assists in a 20-0 win at Hollins. She capped her performances with four more tallies and two caused turnovers in a 16-9 win at Bridgewater. Of her 13 shots overall, 12 were on-goal for a 92.3-percent shooting percentage. Procaccino has racked up 25 points in her rookie season on 21 goals and four assists.
  • Liz Bereit, Shenandoah, Jr., Midfielder

    Bereit, a junior from Latrobe, Pa., put together a 13-point week as the Hornets rattled off a pair of ODAC wins to keep them within striking distance of the top of the ODAC standings. Bereit scored twice and dished out three assists in a 9-7 win over Randolph-Macon. She also caused five turnovers defensively. Over the weekend, Bereit had a hand in eight of Shenandoah's 17 goals as the Hornets topped Virginia, 17-3. She scored four times and helped on four others. Bereit is fourth in the ODAC in assists (23) and eighth in points (56).
  • E'leyna Garcia, Guilford, Sr., Attack

    Garcia, a senior from Plantation, Fla., racked up an 11-point week as the Quakers won two ODAC road games, making it six wins in seven for GC. Garcia scored notched eight points in a 15-10 win at Roanoke, including six tallies in the second half push away from a 6-6 tie at the half. Garcia followed with two goals and an assist in a 12-7 triumph at Bridgewater. Garcia currently leads the ODAC in goals scored with 54 and second in points with 69. For her career, she sits fourth in the ODAC history with 327 points and fifth with 255 goals.
  • Lily Colley, Guilford, Sr., Attack/Midfielder

    Colley, a senior from Wells, Maine, increased her margin on the ODAC points and assists leads as she picks up her third straight weekly award. Colley led Guilford to a 1-1 showing as she scored seven times and dished out three assists in a 20-18 loss to Farmingdale State, which is receiving recognition towards the latest IWLCA national poll. It marks her second game with 10 or more points this season. Colley followed with three goals and four assists in an 18-5 triumph against Sweet Briar. She picked up nine ground balls on the week while also causing four turnovers. College leads the ODAC in points (69) and assists (31). She's third in goals scored (38).

    Colley, a senior from Wells, Maine, picks up her second straight weekly honor after leading Guilford to a pair of ODAC wins. Colley scored five times and handed out three assists in a 19-7 win against Randolph. She also had five ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers. She followed that with three goals and five assists in a 16-7 win over Virginia Wesleyan. Colley is now second all-time at Guilford with 241 points on 148 goals and 83 assists. She owns the Quakers' career assists record, which she set against Randolph. She currently leads the ODAC with 52 points and 24 assists.

    Colley, a senior from Wells, Maine, set the Guilford women's lacrosse single-game record with 12 points in the Quakers' 20-18 comeback win at Randolph-Macon. Colley scored five times and matched her career-high with seven assists as she had a hand in 12 of GC's 20 goals scored. She also picked up three ground balls and recorded a draw control. Colley is currently tied for second in the ODAC with 36 points. Her 16 assists lead the league. She is within two assists of setting Guilford's career record, and is currently third on GC's all-time points list.
  • Samantha Sisson, Shenandoah, Sr., Midfielder
    March 10, 2014
    Sisson, a senior from Keuka Park, N.Y., exploded for 19 points to help the Hornets to a trio of non-conference wins last week. Sisson opened her week with seven goals and three assists in the Shenandoah's 14-9 triumph over Frostburg St. She followed that with one marker and three helpers in a 17-5 victory against Goucher. In that game, Sisson become the Hornets all-time points and goals score leader. She added to those tallies in a 14-6 win over Marymount (Va.) with four goals and an assist. She also collected seven ground balls and six draw controls while causing four turnovers on the week. Sisson's SU career records currently stand at 259 points and 188 goals scored. This season, she's tied for first in the ODAC with 30 points and tied for second with 19 goals scored.
  • Katie Freeman, Bridgewater, Sr., Attack

    Freeman, a senior from Fairfax, Va., put together an eight point week thru a pair of Eagles' wins. In a 13-5 triumph over Ferrum, Freeman scored twice and dished out an assist. She followed that with four goals and another helper in a 12-9 win over Frostburg St. She picked up a ground ball and controlled a draw against the Bobcats. Freeman is tied for the team lead and sixth in the ODAC with eight points.
  • Margaret Klein, Washington and Lee, Sr., Attack

    Klein, a senior from North Andover, Mass., picks up her second straight weekly honor after leading the Generals to a pair of wins last week. She opened with four goals and a ground balll in a 16-6 win at St. Mary's (Md.). She followed that with two goals and an assist in a 12-5 victory over 18th-ranked Mary Washington. She secured a draw and a caused a turnover in that contest. Over the first two weeks, Klein leads the ODAC with 11 points and 10 goals scored.

    Klein, a senior from North Andover, Mass., led the Generals to a 12-11 overtime win at home against 16th-ranked Christopher Newport in the 2014 season opener. She scored two goals in the first half to give the Generals a 6-5 halftime lead. She increased the lead to 7-5 after notching the first goal of the second half. After a CNU comeback sent the game to overtime, Klein notched the game-winning goal with 18 seconds left in the second 3:00 minute period to secure the victory. Klein paced the Generals with four goals, one groundball and three draw controls.
