Saluting the Fall Scholar-AthletesDecember 22, 2009Eight student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools to earn a 2009 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the fall athletic schedule. Farm Bureau Insurance is the proud presenter of each award for the ODAC's 22 sponsored sports.

EMU's Dunn Earns Scholar-Athlete AwardDecember 22, 2009Eastern Mennonite University womens soccer athlete, Mary Dunn, is one of eight student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools to earn a 2009 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the fall athletic schedule. Dunn was tabbed from a pool of nominees by a vote of each of the conferences sports information directors.

LC Ties Wash-U, Falls Short in PK'sDecember 04, 2009Lynchburg and Washington-St. Louis tied 1-1 through two overtimes in their NCAA Division III semifinal matchup. The Bears advanced through to the national championship game on penalty kicks, 4-3. The Hornets season ends with a 17-3-5 record and the program's first trip to the NCAA Division III championship series.

Lynchburg Advances to First Final Four!November 22, 2009Lynchburg women's soccer tied host #3 Trinity University (Texas), 1-1, on Sunday. Dead-locked through 110 minutes of action, penalty kicks were needed to decide who would move on to the next round. LC topped Trinity, 4-2, in PK's, securing a spot in the program's first NCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Championship Series.

Lynchburg Moves On to Elite EightNovember 21, 2009Lynchburg women's soccer took another step towards the NCAA Division III National Championship Series on Saturday after as the Hornets knocked off Concordia-Moorehead, 4-0, at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Katie Santos (above), scored twice for LC.

LC Defeats W&L, Moves on in NCAA'sNovember 15, 2009Freshman midfielder Shelley Hoath scored 24 minutes into the game and the defense made the lead stand up as the Lynchburg women's soccer defeated Washington and Lee 2-0 in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. The Hornets advance into the Sweet 16 of the tourney.

WLU Headlines Women's Soccer AwardsNovember 10, 2009Washington and Lee earned two individual awards and placed four players on the first team in the 2009 All-ODAC Womens Soccer Awards. WLU keeper Emily Leary was pegged Player of the Year, while Neil Cunningham was named Coach of the Year. R-MC's Erin Hauser collected Rookie of the Year honors and EMU's Mary Dunn won the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete.

ODAC Schools Ready for NCAA PlayNovember 09, 2009ODAC schools put seven teams in the NCAA Division III postseason tournaments set to begin this week. Lynchburg is joined by Virginia Wesleyan in men's soccer. The Hornets and Marlins accompany Washington and Lee in women's soccer. Lynchburg is the ODAC's lone qualifier in field hockey, and Randolph-Macon takes to the courts in volleyball.

Generals Win ODAC Title on Penalty KicksNovember 07, 2009The Washington and Lee womens soccer team won the 2009 ODAC Tournament championship on penalty kicks, 3-2, after tying Virginia Wesleyan, 0-0, on Saturday at Foster Field. The Generals earn the ODAC's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

ODAC Women's Soccer Finals SetNovember 04, 2009Washington and Lee and Virginia Wesleyan were both victorious in semifinal action on Wednesday afternoon, setting up the 2009 ODAC Womens Soccer Touranment championship game. The Generals topped Lynchburg, 2-1, in Lexington. The Marlins downed Roanoke, 5-1, at home.

ODAC Women's Soccer Pairings SetOctober 28, 2009Virginia Wesleyan maintained the top spot in the ODAC womens soccer standings through the final week of play, earning the #1 seed into the ODAC tournament for the second straight season. The Marlins sit ahead of Washington and Lee, the second seed in the tournament. Lynchburg enters as the three seed with Bridgewater holding down the fourth seed.

Generals Lead Contingent in Regional RankingsOctober 23, 2009The NCAA released its first set of regional rankings for the fall team sports (except football) on Wednesday with the ODAC earning solid representation throughout. In womens soccer, Washington and Lee sits third in the South Atlantic Region, followed closely by Virginia Wesleyan (4th), Lynchburg (5th) and Roanoke (8th).

LC Favored in ODAC Women's SoccerAugust 26, 2009Lynchburg received eight of 12 first place votes and 140 total poll points on its way to sitting atop the 2009 ODAC Womens Soccer Preseason Poll. Virginia Wesleyan (132 pts.) picked up three first place votes, while Washington and Lee (121) garnered the remaining top nod.

Two Teams in NSCAA Preseason RankingsAugust 11, 2009Lynchburg College and Virginia Wesleyan College both hold positions in the annual NSCAA Preseason Top-25 Rankings for NCAA Division III women's soccer. The Hornets open the year 10th in the nation while the Marlins are on their heels in 12th.
