  • ODAC Fall and Winter Sportsmanship Teams Announced
    April 10, 2014
    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2013-14 ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams in each of the fall and winter sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the fifth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.
  • Erickson Tabbed to Lead Eastern Mennonite Women's Soccer

    Eastern Mennonite University has announced the hiring of Ted Erickson as the new head women's soccer coach. Erickson, a 2005 EMU alum, becomes the fifth head coach in the history of the program. He has been the head coach of boys' soccer at Harrisonburg High School since 2007. During those same years, Erickson has also been an assistant coach for EMU's women's and men's programs, as well as with the Bridgewater College men.
  • LC's Rachel Sadowski Receives NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    Lynchburg College senior Rachel Sadowski of the women's soccer team was recently selected as a recipient of the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, based on her academic, athletic, and community achievements during her career as a student-athlete at LC.

    Former Roanoke College soccer star and ODAC Player of the Year, Shelly Olds, stepped off the pitch and onto a bike, which she's ridden all the way to the summer Olympic games. Olds is the latest in the NCAA's "40-in-40" feature celebrating the 40th anniversary of NCAA Division III athletics.   • Lynchburg Places Two on NSCAA Women's Soccer All-American Teams

    Lynchburg College and the ODAC were represented by a pair of players on theNSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-America Team. Defender Rachel Sadowski (pictured) was tabbed to the first team for the second straight season, while forward Dessi Dupuy earned on a spot on the second team, marking her first All-American laurel.

    Ten of the ODAC's women's soccer players earned recognition on the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region team. Four standouts earned a spot on the first team, including Washington and Lee defender Holley Beasley (pictured).
  • Lynchburg Falls Short in NCAA Second Round Loss to Emory

    The #11-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team got off to a quick start, but could not sustain the early energy, falling 2-1 to #8 Emory University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Tournament. Lynchburg's season will end with a school record 22 wins, finishing with a record of 22-2. Both defeats were to Emory in Atlanta.
  • Dupuy Leads Lynchburg Past Centre in NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament

    The NCAA Division III Women's Soccer match between #11 Lynchburg College and Centre College came down to the final 10 minutes, but in the end the Hornets went back to the hotel with a 3-2 victory. Lynchburg (22-1) moves on to face the host, #8 Emory University (15-3-1), Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the round of 16.
  • Lynchburg's Dupuy Highlights ODAC Women's Soccer Awards

    Lynchburg forward Dessi Dupuy earned the ODAC Player of the Year award as one of three LC Hornets taking home special honors as part of the All-ODAC women's soccer awards. Dr. Todd Olsen was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, while defender Rachel Sadowski was selected as the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete by the league's sports information directors. Washington and Lee defender Ashley Hogan received ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades.
  • LC Women's Soccer Heads to Emory for NCAA Tournament Play

    Lynchburg College, winners of the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference women’s soccer championship, received the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Tournament. The tournament bracket was released this afternoon and the Hornets will travel to Emory University for regional play. LC will square off against Centre College in its opening game on Saturday.
  • Lynchburg Wins Fourth Straight ODAC Women's Soccer Title

    The Lynchburg College women's soccer team won its fourth straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a 2-0 victory over Washington and Lee University Saturday afternoon. The Hornets earn the ODAC's automatic qualification into the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.

    Lynchburg College enters the 2013 ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament as the top seed in the eight-team field with an unscathed conference mark of 12-0. Washington and Lee University owns the second seed, while Virginia Wesleyan College sits in third.

  • Lynchburg Headlines ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

    Lynchburg College picked up 10 first place votes and 142 total points on the way to headlining the 2013 ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. Virginia Wesleyan College holds down second position with 127 markers. Washington and Lee University corralled a pair of top nods towards 118 tallies, which is just one point clear of Bridgewater College. The Eagles picked up the remaining first place vote in the annual coaches' survey.
  • Michael Shenigo Named Guilford Women's Soccer Head Coach

    Michael Shenigo became Guilford College’s ninth head women’s soccer coach in the program’s 28-year history Tuesday. The appointment marks the first college head-coaching position for the former University of Scranton and Lynchburg College assistant, who has participated in each of the past five NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Tournaments.
