  • Lynchburg's Maxwell and Woll Named NSCAA All-Americans

    Lynchburg College centerback Emily Maxwell and winger Jade Woll added to their lists of postseason honors as the duo earned recognition as First Team All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). It is the first time in Hornet women's soccer program history that LC had two members on the first team in the same season.
  • SU's Burris, LC's Deacon Earn Academic All-America Honors

    Shenandoah University midfielder Danielle Burris and Lynchburg College defender Natalie Deacon added to their stock of postseason awards, earning First Team Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Both were also tabbed Academic All-Americans in 2014.
  • Late Goal Lifts Rowan Past Lynchburg in NCAA Second Round

    Darah Wagner headed in a corner kick with under two minutes to play to give the Rowan University women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Lynchburg College Sunday evening in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
  • Mertens Delivers as Lynchburg Defeats Babson in NCAA First Round

    Freshman Caitlin Mertens scored the game's only goal to lift the 12th-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win Saturday evening over Babson College (MA) in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Tournament, hosted by Rowan University.

    Lynchburg centerback Emily Maxwell and Roanoke mentor Phil Benne headline the 2015 ODAC Women's Soccer awards, as the pair garnered ODAC Player of the Year and ODAC Coach of the Year honors. Washington and Lee midfielder Danielle Spickard earned ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades, while Shenandoah midfielder Danielle Burris received the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award.
  • Lynchburg on the Road for NCAA Women's Soccer Opening Rounds

    Sixty-four teams are set to begin play in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament, with Lynchburg College representing the ODAC. The Hornets begin their national title defense on the road for the first and second rounds as they make their way to Rowan University.
  • Lynchburg Hoists Sixth Straight ODAC Championship Trophy

    The Lynchburg College women's soccer team earned its sixth-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title Sunday in a 1-1 double overtime tie against Roanoke College, outscoring the Maroons 5-3 in penalty kicks to determine the champion. LC earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, and will find out all of the details of NCAA post-season play on the NCAA selection show Monday at 1 p.m.

  • ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament Field Determined

    A pair of squads full of Hornets own the top two seeds in the upcoming ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament. Nationally 12th-ranked Lynchburg College holds down the #1 position as it goes in search of a conference-record 14th overall title and sixth overall. Shenandoah University earns its highest seeding since joining the league nearly four years ago as the second seed.
  • Lynchburg, Washington and Lee Included in First NCAA Regional Rankings

    Women's soccer was amongst a group of sports that published their first NCAA Division III regional rankings on Wednesday afternoon. Lynchburg College and Washington and Lee University represent the ODAC, appearing third and seventh in the South Atlantic Region, respectively. Regional rankings begin roughly three weeks out from the selection of each sport's NCAA tournament field. To be eligible for an at-large bid to a NCAA Tournament, a team must be ranked regionally.

  • Lynchburg Headlines ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

    Reigning NCAA Division III champion Lynchburg College collected 11 first place votes towards 121 total points to lead the 2015 ODAC Womens' Soccer Preseason Poll. Washington and Lee University sits second with 109 tallies, while Bridgewater College and Virginia Wesleyan College tied for third with 96 points. The Marlins secured the remaining top nod.
  • Sweet Briar Selects Dahlin for Women's Soccer Post

    Sweet Briar Director of Athletics Teresa Boylan has announced the appointment of Amy Dahlin as head soccer coach and lecturer in Physical Education effective August 3. Dahlin is no stranger to Vixen Soccer as she served as an assistant coach at Sweet Briar from 2011-2013.
  • Randolph-Macon's Nieburg Featured in NCAA Champion Magazine

    Randolph-Macon College women's soccer player Sarah Nieburg is featured in the latest issue of the NCAA's "Champion" magazine. Nieburg, a native of Charlottesville, Va., made the trek to rural Ghana last summer. She spent six weeks in the west African country, encouraging gender empowerment thru sport.
