  • Guilford Tabs Webb to Lead to Women's Soccer Program
    May 01, 2017
    Stephanie Webb became Guilford College’s 10th head women’s soccer coach in the program’s 32-year history Monday. The appointment marks the first college head-coaching position for the former Queens University of Charlotte assistant. She replaces Michael Shenigo, who resigned in March to become the goalkeepers’ coach for the University of Delaware’s women’s soccer team.
  • Emory & Henry Selects McCallie Jones as Women’s Soccer Head Coach

    The Emory & Henry College Department of Athletics and Director of Athletics Myra Sims are pleased to announce the hiring of McCallie Jones as Head Women's Soccer Coach. Jones, who has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, will begin her duties at E&H on March 1.

    In the fifth installment of the ODAC 40 top moments features, we look back just two years at the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship won by Lynchburg College. That season's version of Hornets went undefeated on the way to capturing the program's first national title in penalty kicks over William College. Head coach Dr. Todd Olsen and midfielder Sam Bagherpour, who was a midfielder and Elite 89 winner on that team, reminisce about LC's championship run.

  • Lynchburg Downs Hope to Move on to NCAA Second Round

    First-year forward Alyssa Rudy put the caps on a five-goal contest featuring Lynchburg College and Hope College, notching the deciding tally in the 64th minute in the Hornets 3-2 victory over the Flying Dutch in the first round NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. LC moves on to face host Thomas More College in the second round at 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
  • W&L's Engeland and Cunningham Lead ODAC Women's Soccer Awards

    Washington and Lee University midfielder Megan Engeland and head coach Neil Cunningham helped lead the Generals to the ODAC women's soccer championship last weekend. Now the Generals' duo tops the list of annual All-ODAC Women's Soccer Awards as Engeland was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year while Cunningham secured ODAC Coach of the Year honors. Shenandoah University forward Emily Yergin earned ODAC Rookie of the Year honors, and Lynchburg College defender Natalie Deacon received ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete laurels from the league's sports information directors.
  • Three ODAC Teams Set to Play in NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament

    Not one, not two, but three ODAC squads are headed to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament, as announced by the NCAA Monday afternoon. Conference champion Washington and Lee University is joined by at-large selections Lynchburg College and Virginia Wesleyan College in the upcoming national tourney.

    Washington and Lee University is the new team at the top of the ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament pairings as the Generals picked up 25 standings points to earn the top seed in the postseason bracket. Just two points separated #1 from #3, with Virginia Wesleyan College garnering the second seed and Lynchburg College entering as the third seed.

  • Salem Selected as Host City for NCAA Division III Soccer Championships

    The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the seven sites for its championships that are being relocated from venues in North Carolina on Friday morning, with Salem included among the new set of hosts. The City of Salem in conjunction with Roanoke College and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) were selected to host the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Soccer Championships.

  • Lynchburg Tops ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

    Six-time defending ODAC champion Lynchburg College opens the 2016 season in a familiar position as the Hornets headline the ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. LC picked up 11 first place votes on the way to 142 total points, making it one of a record six programs to crack the 100-point plateau. Washington and Lee sits second with 131 points and one top nod.
