Women's Soccer Honor Roll

Brittney Harris, Bridgewater College, Sophomore, Forward
Harris scored a goal in each of Bridgewater’s conference wins during the past week. Harris scored the game’s lone goal in an important ODAC victory at Randolph-Macon. Harris scored from 20 yards out midway through the first OT to give the Eagles a 1-0 victory. She added a goal Saturday in BC’s 7-0 win over Hollins.

Abby Diffenbach, Eastern Mennonite University, Senior, Goalkeeper
Diffenbach was at her best Saturday night when the Lady Royals hosted conference-leading Roanoke.  Diffenbach set a career high with 20 saves, including six in overtime, to help EMU forge a 1-1 tie with the Maroons, breaking RC’s six-game ODAC winning streak.  Diffenbach had seven saves in each half of regulation, then stood firm in OT.  Her previous best saves total for a game was 17.  She also broke the EMU record for career saves earlier this year, in a Sept. 18 game against Virginia Wesleyan, and leads the ODAC with a save percentage of .898.

Tianna Strassner, Randolph College, Freshman, Forward
Strassner netted another huge goal for the WildCats, as she scored with 5:07 left in the second overtime period to lift the WildCats to a 2-1 victory over the Vixens of Sweet Briar College. Strassner, now with four goals on the season, took a header pass from fellow first-year Marielle Rando and chipped it past the charging Vixen keeper for the game-winner.

Steph Parenteau, Roanoke College, Sophomore, Forward
Parenteau scored three of Maroons' four goals this week in two matches.  Scored two goals in a 3-0 win over E&H.  Scored team’s only goal in 1-1 tie against EMU.

Hanna Winkel, Virginia Wesleyan College, Sophomore, Forward
Winkel scored in both games in a 2-0 week for Virginia Wesleyan.  She assisted on the fourth goal in the Marlins’ win at Randolph College and recorded two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Guilford College.  She scored VWC’s 2nd goal unassisted and added the fourth goal in the 60th minute.  Winkel is one of five rookies or sophomores to lead the Marlins in scoring so far this season.
