  • W&L Women's Tennis Defeats Denison in NCAA Semis

    The top-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team tied its program record for wins in a season (28-0) and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship match for the fourth-straight season with a 5-1 victory over Denison in the NCAA semifinals on Wednesday afternoon in Saint Peter, Minn.
  • Wash. and Lee’s Tabb Named Women’s Tennis Top Player

    Washington and Lee University added to its sixth straight ODAC women’s tennis championship with a pair of the top honors amongst 2008 Women’s Tennis All-ODAC teams. The Generals’ Katie Tabb was named the sport’s Player of the Year while W&L mentor Eric Ishida was selected as the Coach of the Year.
  • Women’s Tennis Tournament Starts Friday

    Sweet Briar College opens its campus to championship play this weekend as the 2008 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Tennis Tournament begins Friday morning. Washington and Lee University, the reigning ODAC and NCAA Division III national champion, enters as the top-seeded team after posting an eye-popping 20-0 spring record (21-0 with one dual match win in the fall).
  • W&L Picked First in Women’s Tennis Poll

    Washington and Lee University received all 11 first place votes on the way to 121 total points in the 2008 ODAC Women’s Tennis Coaches Poll. Virginia Wesleyan College received 103 votes for second place and Hollins University holds third place with 102 tallies.
  • Sweet Briar Names Mays New Head Tennis Coach

    Sweet Briar Athletic Director Kelly Morrison has announced the appointment of Andy Mays as head tennis coach. Mays takes over the program for Morrison who is now serving as the athletic director and chair of physical education. Morrison comments, "Andy is a great addition to Sweet Briar's coaching team. He is dedicated to the team's success and passionate about the game of tennis. And while it is difficult for me to leave coaching, I know that the team is in good hands with Andy as head coach."
