  • Generals, Vixens Compete in NCAA Tennis

    Washington and Lee women's tennis players Ellen Yeatman (pictured), Lauren Lukas and Trelsie Sadler were joined by Sweet Briar's Ariel Taylor at the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Tournament on Friday. Yeatman and Taylor competed in the singles competition, while Lukas and Sadler teamed in the doubles bracket.
  • W&L Falls to Emory in NCAA Quarters

    The Washington and Lee women's tennis team saw its 2011 season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to Emory University in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Tuesday morning at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Three Generals still remain in the individual competition, set to begin on Friday.

    The Washington and Lee women's tennis team recovered from a 4-2 deficit to post a 5-4 victory over Carnegie Mellon in the third round of the NCAA Division III tennis championship on Saturday morning. The win sends the Generals to the national quarterfinals in Claremont, Calif., on May 24, where they'll face Emory University.

    The NCAA announced its individual singles and doubles fields for the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament, joining the announcement of the team bracket last week. Washington and Lee earned a bye into the second round as a team, and will be led by Ellen Yeatman (pictured) in the singles ranks.
  • Taylor, Ishida Top Women's Tennis Awards

    SBC's Ariel Taylor was named both the ODAC Player and Rookie of the Year as part of the 2011 All-ODAC Women’s Tennis awards. W&L head coach Eric Ishida secured his fourth straight and fourth overall ODAC Coach of the Year honor. HU's Sarah Budrus was tabbed the scholar-athlete for the second straight season.
  • W&L Corrals 21st Women's Tennis Title

    The eighth-ranked and top-seeded Washington and Lee women's tennis team claimed its 21st ODAC title in program history after defeating No. 2 seed Hollins University, 5-0, in the championship match of the ODAC Tournament on Sunday morning at the W&L Upper Courts.

    The No. 1 seed Washington and Lee women's tennis team advanced to the finals of the ODAC Tournament with a 5-0 decision over No. 5 seed Sweet Briar on Friday morning at the W&L Upper Courts.

  • Field Set for Women's Tennis Tourney

    Washington and Lee University is in search of its 21st ODAC women’s tennis crown as the Generals (15-6 overall, 10-0 ODAC) enter play in the 2011 ODAC Women’s Tennis Tournament as the top seed. Winner of the past eight conference championships, W&L is followed closely into the postseason by second seeded Hollins University (14-3, 9-1).

  • Generals Favored to Win 21st Title

    Washington and Lee earned 121 total points and received all 11 first place votes in the 2011 ODAC Women’s Tennis Preseason Poll. Hollins locks down the second position after picking up 96 points, while Sweet Briar sits in third with 94 points. Bridgewater and Virginia Wesleyan round out the top five with 87 points and 72 points, respectively.
  • Teams Compete at ODAC Fall Champs.

    The ODAC women's tennis teams competed in the ODAC Fall Championships over the weekend at Hollins University. The event was played in singles and doubles flighted format and featured individual results rather than team scores. Sweet Briar's Arial Holness (pictured) won at No. 1 singles, marking one of two singles wins for the Vixens.
  • R-MC Opens New Tennis Facility

    Randolph-Macon is proud to announce the opening of a brand-new tennis complex on campus. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the complex located at 112 Henry Clay Road, Ashland, Virginia. R-MC tennis coach Wayne Vaughan and the tennis teams were on hand, and mini tennis clinics were held for elementary-age students.

    The Washington and Lee women's tennis team captured one doubles title and has another pair in contention for a title as it participated in the second day of the ITA Southeast Regional Women's Tennis Championships on Sunday at the University of Mary Washington.
  • Campbell Takes Reins of Randolph Tennis

    The WildCat’s tennis programs have found a new head mentor, as Jamie Campbell was selected to lead Randolph men’s and women’s teams, as announced by Director of Athletics Tina Hill Tuesday morning. Campbell comes to the College after having extensive experience at the Division I level, most recently at UTEP.
