Gordon, a junior from Winchester, Va., helped the Eagles to a 3-0 record against ODAC teams last week as Bridgewater defeated Sweet Briar, Virginia Wesleyan and Emory & Henry. Gordon posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at #1 singles against SBC, and then won 6-2, 6-1 from the top flight versus VWC. Against E&H, she won at #1 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Gordon was also 3-0 at #1 doubles, joining teammate Marla O'Bryan in topping SBC, 8-2, VWC, 9-8, and E&H, 8-3. Gordon is 15-2 this spring in singles action, all from the top flight. She's 8-2 against league opponents. Gordon is 15-3 in doubles action, all from the #1 position.
Women's Tennis Honor Roll
Kim Klemeier, Guilford College

Klemeier went 2-2 at third singles and 1-3 at second doubles in
Guilford's 2-2 week. She helped GC to a 5-4 win over Randolph
with a 6-2, 6-4 win over her third-singles rival. She also
won at #3 singles and #2 doubles against Lynchburg.
Betsy Stipa, Lynchburg College - (Jr., -
Oak Hill, VA)
Stipa earned a point at #2 singles against Roanoke, and then
teamed with Melissa Drinkard for a win at #1 doubles against Sweet
Briar, 8-5. She round out the week with a pair of #2 singles
victories over Guilford (6-1, 7-5) and Virginia Wesleyan (8-2).
Patricia Verdezoto, Randolph - (So.,
#2/#1 - Cuenza, Azuay, Ecuador)
Verdezoto posted a 4-0 record in singles action this week. She
helped the WildCats upset Hollins, 5-4, with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No.
2 doubles on Tuesday. She followed that up with three straight-set
wins over Ferrum, Guilford and Shenandoah. Over the week, she won
48 of 58 games played. She also paired at No. 1 doubles to take two
wins.
Corbin Leitch, Roanoke - (Sr., -
Richmond, VA)
Leitch remains undefeated at #1 singles after winning 6-0, 6-0
against Lynchburg and 6-1, 6-1 vs Guilford last week to move her
mark to 5-0. She's 10-3 overall in singles action this spring
(#1 and #2 combined). She and teammate Haley Goodes won 8-0
at #2 doubles against LC. She and Kristen McDowell competed
at #2 doubles against GC, winning 8-4.
Meghan Buell, Washington and Lee University

Buell went 2-0 on a week where the Generals defeated Guilford,
9-0. She teamed up with Claire Cahill to win at No. 1
doubles, 8-0. She then won at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Buell is ranked eighth in Atlantic South region in singles and
fifth in region with Cameron Dorsey for doubles.
