Kozak Moves from UVA to Run Hollins Volleyball

ROANOKE, Va. --- Jason Kozak, who spent six seasons as an assistant coach of the women's volleyball team at the University of Virginia, is the new head volleyball coach at Hollins University.

A native of Rochester, New York, Kozak mentored five All-American, five All-Region, and ten All-ACC players in his tenure at UVa, during which time the team compiled a 114-77 record and posted 18 or more wins in each his final five seasons. The 2006 squad was a particular standout, finishing second in the ACC with a school-record 16 conference wins and a 23-8 overall record. Kozak was UVa's recruiting coordinator in 2007 and served as director for the university's volleyball camps beginning in 2005.

Prior to joining the coaching staff at UVa, Kozak was an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where he helped lead the women's volleyball squad to the Ivy League Co-Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2001, and at Appalachian State University. He is a graduate of SUNY-Brockport.

The team will play a provisional season in 2010-11 and then become a competing member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) the following season.

With the addition of volleyball, Hollins will compete in eight sports in the ODAC. The others are basketball, golf, lacrosse, riding, soccer, swimming, and tennis.
