  • Clotfelter to Run Wasps' Volleyball
    April 13, 2011
    Dan Clotfelter served as head volleyball coach at Walker School in Atlanta, Ga., building that high school program into a state powerhouse. During his eight-year tenure, the team competed in four Final Fours, three Elite Eights and one Sweet Sixteen. He was selected four times as the Area Coach of the Year and was selected as a State All-Star Game Coach.
  • Bridgewater Tabs Albert to Volleyball Post

    Bridgewater College's Director of Athletics, Curt Kendall announced Monday that Erin Albert has been hired as the new head volleyball coach for the Eagles' program. Albert becomes just the third head coach in the program's history. She comes to BC following two years as an assistant at Chatham University.

    Seven student-athletes from Old Dominion Athletic Conference member schools earned a 2010 ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete Award during the fall athletic schedule. Farm Bureau Insurance is the proud presenter of each award for the ODAC's 22 sponsored sports.
  • Randolph-Macon Falls in Thriller to CNU

    Randolph-Macon and No. 5 Christopher Newport played to a five-game thriller on Sunday afternoon, with CNU prevailing 3-2 to win the regional final and advance to the national quarterfinals in St. Louis. R-MC bows out with a 27-8 record following the 25-20, 29-31, 25-15, 22-25, 14-16 match with CNU.
  • R-MC Runs into Volleyball Regional Finals

    The Randolph-Macon College Volleyball knocked off No. 9 Colorado College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon to advance to the Regional Finals of the 2010 NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. R-MC will take on #5 Christopher Newport at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. The winner of that match will advance to the eight-team National Championship Round in St. Louis next week.
  • Generals Volleyball Falls to Emory

    The fourth-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball team fell, 3-1, to No. 1 seed Emory University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament on Saturday evening at the Woodruff PE Center. The Eagles, also ranked No. 1 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, defeated the Generals 25-17, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17.
  • W&L Defeats Mt. St. Joe's in NCAA Play
    November 12, 2010
    The Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Mt. St. Joseph, 3-1, on Friday evening in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships hosted by Emory University. The Generals will take to the court again on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. against top seeded Emory.
  • R-MC Knocks Off F&M in First Round

    The Randolph-Macon volleyball team earned the program's first NCAA Division III Tournament victory with a thrilling 3-2 win over Franklin & Marshall Friday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets advance to the Regional Semifinals on Saturday where they will take on top-seed Colorado College at 4:00 p.m. at Christopher Newport University.
  • R-MC, W&L Land Spots in NCAA Tourney

    ODAC champion and automatic qualifier Randolph-Macon will be joined by Washington and Lee in the 2010 NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. The Generals earned their spot as one of 19 at-large selections to the 63-team field. Regional play begins on Friday, November 12.

    The Randolph-Macon Volleyball team secured its second consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship with a 3-2 victory over top-seeded Washington and Lee Saturday afternoon in Roanoke.
  • Winton Earns Top Honors for Second Time

    R-MC's Raena Winton secured her second straight ODAC Player of the Year as part of the 2010 ODAC Volleyball All-Conference awards. W&L mentor Bryan Snyder was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, while the Generals’ M.A. Boles picked up the ODAC Rookie of the Year honor. EMU's Elisa Troyer was named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

    Washington and Lee University and Randolph-Macon College made up one of three ties that dotted the conference standings heading into the 2010 ODAC Volleyball Tournament. The Generals earned the tourney’s #1 seed over the second-seeded Yellow Jackets due to W&L’s head-to-head victory over R-MC in the regular season.

    ODAC standings began to take shape as the fall season played through the fourth week of action. LC field hockey scored a major non-conference win with a 2-1 triumph over nationally top-ranked Messiah. Lindsay Leonard tallied both goals. EMU's Richy Bikko won his second cross country race at the Maroon Invitational, earning his second weekly honor.

    The first week of ODAC action is in the books with several athletes performing as if its mid-season. This week's athletes include BC's Kalah Hess, Dominic Jeter and Olivia Mills, EMU's Richy Bikko, E&H's Caleb Jennings, R-MC's Jessica Sears, RC's Michael Stark, and SBC's Sierra Palmieri.
  • R-MC Volleyball Picked to Repeat

    R-MC received eight first place votes on the way to 116 points in the ODAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. Three other teams earned first place tallies in the annual coach’s survey, including second-ranked W&L with one top nod and 98 total points. LC collected 97 points and one first place vote followed by VWC with 93 poll points. RC picked up the final #1 vote as part of 81 points.
