  • ODAC/StellarOne Fall Sportsmanship Teams Announced
    November 30, 2012
    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2012 ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams in each of seven fall sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the fourth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.
  • R-MC's Carter, VWC's Guy Named AVCA All-Americans

    ODAC Player of the Year and Randolph-Macon outside hitter, Mallory Carter, was joined by Virginia Wesleyan's All-ODAC First Team outside hitter, Kala Guy, in earning recognition as an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American. This is Carter's second straight year on the honorable mention list, while Guy makes her first appearance. The pair were joined by R-MC's Tori Puryear as All-Region honorees.
  • Randolph-Macon Falls to CNU in Second Round of NCAA Tournament

    Randolph-Macon saw its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament come to an end on Saturday evening with a 3-2 loss to No. 5 Christopher Newport. The Yellow Jackets won the first game and dropped the next two before tying the match 2-all with a win in the fourth set. CNU scored a 15-12 win in game five to clinch the match.

    The Washington and Lee volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to fifth-ranked Christopher Newport in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Newport News, Va.
  • Randolph-Macon Tops Gallaudet in NCAA First Round

    Mallory Carter and Tori Puryear had 14 and 11 kills, respectively as Randolph-Macon topped Gallaudet, 3-0, in the first-round of the 2012 NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament being held at Christopher Newport. The Yellow Jackets move on to face the host Captains on Saturday. CNU defeated Washington and Lee in the first round.
  • Washington and Lee, Randolph-Macon Enter NCAA Volleyball Tournament

    Washington and Lee University, winners of the 2012 ODAC Championship, received the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. The tournament bracket was released this morning and the Generals, along with Randolph-Macon College, which got an at-large bid, will travel to Newport News, Va. to Christopher Newport University for regional play. W&L will square off against host CNU, while R-MC will face Gallaudet University in their opening match on Friday.
  • Randolph-Macon's Carter Headlines ODAC Volleyball Awards

    Randolph-Macon College senior outside hitter Mallory Carter was named the ODAC Volleyball Player of the Year as the Yellow Jackets took home three major honors as part of the 2012 All-ODAC Volleyball Awards. R-MC mentor Bill Rogers was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, while fellow Jacket, senior outside hitter Jessica Sears, garnered the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award for the second straight year. Washington and Lee University freshman Anna Lausberg earned ODAC Rookie of the Year honors.
  • Washington and Lee Wins ODAC Record 13th Volleyball Crown

    After a three-year hiatus, the Washington and Lee volleyball team is once again the ODAC Champions. The second-seeded Generals defeated fourth-seeded Lynchburg, 3-1, in the ODAC Tournament Championship on Saturday at Randolph-Macon to claim the title. W&L earns the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament, which is set to begin opening round play next week.

  • ODAC Volleyball Tournament Pairings Set

    Randolph-Macon College went undefeated in conference play for the first time in program history, posting a perfect 11-0 mark to earn the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Volleyball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets have won each of the past three conference crowns. Washington and Lee University, having won a league-best 12 volleyball titles, is the second seed in this year's postseason event.

  • Two ODAC Squads Listed in First NCAA Volleyball Regional Rankings

    The NCAA released its first set of regional rankings for the fall team sports (except football) on Wednesday with the ODAC earning solid representation throughout. In volleyball, Randolph-Macon College (16-5 overall, 7-0 in the ODAC) sits third in the South Region, with Washington and Lee University (19-7, 7-1) in sixth position.

  • ODAC Spotlight Athlete of the Week: Mallory Carter, R-MC Volleyball

    Randolph-Macon College volleyball player Mallory Carter is this week's feature as the ODAC Spotlight Athlete of the Week. Carter was named the ODAC Volleyball Player of the Week after leading R-MC to a 4-2 week. She earned a spot on the Emory Invitational All-Tournament Team after registering 72 kills over the four matches, including a career-best 25 winners against #12 Elmhurst.

  • Randolph-Macon Tops ODAC Volleyball Poll

    Randolph-Macon received eight first place votes as part of 118 total points to head the 2012 ODAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. Washington and Lee collected 113 tallies, including three top nods, and Lynchburg gathered the remaining first place vote towards 101 points in the annual coaches' survey.
