  • R-MC's Lowers Adds AVCA All-American Nod to Postseason Awards List

    Randolph-Macon College outside hitter Courtney Lowers added to her list of postseason honors, leading a list of three athletes that received recognition towards AVCA All-America distinction. Lowers was tabbed to the Third Team, while Virginia Wesleyan College outside Tiffany Barrett and Washington and Lee University middle Mackenzie Shand earned Honorable Mention laurels.
  • Randolph-Macon Closes Season with Loss to Carthage in NCAA Quarterfinals

    Randolph-Macon College volleyball saw its record-setting season come to a close on Thursday evening as the Yellow Jackets fell to Carthage College, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 28-26), in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament quarterfinals. R-MC stands as the first ODAC squad to reach the final eight of the national tourney.
  • Randolph-Macon Volleyball Advances to National Quarterfinals

    Seniors Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va. / Nansemond River) and Katie Rossberg (Crozet, Va. / Western Albemarle) tallied 17 and 16 kills, respectively, as the Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team defeated Stockton 3-0 Sunday afternoon in the Galloway Regional Final of the NCAA Tournament to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time in school history.
  • Lowers Sets Randolph-Macon Career Kills Record in Win Over CNU

    Senior Courtney Lowers recorded 25 kills and 25 digs as the Randolph-Macon volleyball team edged fifth-ranked Christopher Newport 3-2 Saturday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Lowers now holds the R-MC record for career kills with 1,438, which sits 10th in ODAC history.
  • R-MC Upends Stevenson to Advance in NCAA Volleyball Tournament

    Senior Courtney Lowers (Crozet, Va. / Western Albemarle) recorded 21 kills as the Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team defeated Stevenson 3-1 Friday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in the Galloway Regional on the campus of Stockton University.

    Randolph-Macon senior Courtney Lowers has been named Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association’s National Player of the Week. Lowers tallied an impressive 63 kills and 34 digs over three matches in the 2015 ODAC Volleyball Championship.
  • Randolph-Macon Headed to New Jersey for NCAA Volleyball Regional Play

    Randolph-Macon College punched its ticket to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament on Saturday evening, leaving no question the Yellow Jackets would be in the field of 64. Now they know where they're going. R-MC will make the trip to New Jersey and Stockton University to begin competition in one of eight regional pods that feature eight teams.
  • R-MC's Lowers, Rogers Repeat in Headlining ODAC Volleyball Awards

    Randolph-Macon earned a pair of special honors for the second year in a row to lead the 2015 All-ODAC Volleyball Awards. Yellow Jackets’ outside hitter Courtney Lowers repeats as the ODAC Player of the Year, while R-MC mentor Bill Rogers enjoys his second straight ODAC Coach of the Year accolade. Washington and Lee outside hitter Meg Guignon was tabbed the ODAC Rookie of the Year, while Guilford outside Kelsey Ruehling earned the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete award.
  • Randolph-Macon Hoists Fourth ODAC Volleyball Championship Trophy

    Senior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va. / Nansemond River) recorded a double-double with 27 kills and 17 digs as the top-seeded Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team claimed the 2015 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship Saturday evening with a 3-1 victory against No.2 Virginia Wesleyan.

  • ODAC Sets Eight-Team Volleyball Tournament Field

    Randolph-Macon College dropped just two sets in running thru its 11-match conference slate on the way to the top seed for the second straight year in the upcoming ODAC Volleyball Tournament. Virginia Wesleyan College's tourney position also has a familiar ring to it as the Marlins won on the final day of regular season competition to lockup the #2 seed for the second straight season.
  • Four Squads Slotted in First NCAA Volleyball Regional Rankings

    Four ODAC squads adorn the inaugural list of the 2015 NCAA Division III volleyball regional rankings. Randolph-Macon College (2nd) is joined by Virginia Wesleyan College (6th), Washington and Lee University (7th) and Roanoke College (8th) in the South Region's eight-team table. Regional rankings begin roughly three weeks out from the selection of each sport's NCAA tournament field. To be eligible for an at-large bid to a NCAA Tournament, a team must be ranked regionally.

  • Lynchburg Honors Current Eckerd Head Coach with Dig Pink Event

    On Tuesday evening, Lynchburg College used its first "Dig Pink" breast cancer awareness event to honor current Eckerd College head coach Michelle Piantadosi. In her fourth season guiding the Tritons, Piantadosi was diagnosed with breast cancer in August.

  • Randolph-Macon's Rogers Collects 300th Volleyball Coaching Victory

    Randolph-Macon College volleyball earned its third victory in four tries this season with a 3-0 victory over Misericordia, which proved the right number to earn head coach Bill Rogers his 300th career victory. Now in his 14th season and following two more victories this weekend, Rogers owns a 302-123 (.711) record in R-MC lemon and black.

  • Washington and Lee Headlines ODAC Volleyball Preseason Poll

    Three-time defending conference champion Washington and Lee University sits atop the 2015 ODAC Volleyball Preseason Poll, having received seven first place votes on the way to 116 total points. Both Randolph-Macon College and Lynchburg College cracked the 100-point plateau, earning 113 and 110 tallies, respectively. R-MC picked up four first place nods, while LC garnered the remainder. Virginia Wesleyan College is tight for fourth at 93 points.
