  • ODAC 40 Feature: Highlighting the Winners of the First Berkley and Jopson Awards

    In the eighth installment of ODAC 40 features, we highlight the conference's top awards in a pair of conversations with the first winners of the Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Awards. Former Eastern Mennonite University (then known as Eastern Mennonite College) volleyball star Becky (Derstine) Esch garnered the first Berkley Award in 1984, while former Washington and Lee University football and track & field standout Chip Nunley earned the inaugural Jopson Award in 1981.
  • Randolph-Macon's Quinn Leads ODAC Contingent of AVCA Award Winners

    Randolph-Macon setter Erin Quinn became the second straight Yellow Jacket to earn All-America Third Team honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday, leading a list of four ODAC standouts for the AVCA's top awards. R-MC teammate Mariah Clark, Lynchburg outside hitter Jennifer Garrett, and Washington and Lee middle Mackenzie Shand garnered Honorable Mention All-America laurels.
  • Yellow Jackets Stopped by Mary Washington in NCAA Volleyball Second Round

    The Randolph-Macon volleyball fell to Mary Washington 3-0 in Fredericksburg on Saturday night in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Yellow Jackets finished the season with a 24-8 record, winning the regular season and ODAC Tournament Titles. UMW (30-3) advances to the round of 16 with the win.
  • Randolph-Macon Advances Past Stevenson in NCAA First Round

    The Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team advanced to the NCAA Round of 32 with a 3-1 win over Stevenson on Friday night. The Yellow Jackets put in a real team performance as three different players registered double doubles in the come from behind win.
  • Randolph-Macon Headed to UMW for NCAA Division III Volleyball Regional Play

    For the second straight season, Randolph-Macon College will serve as the ODAC's lone representative in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets learned of their regional play location and first round opponent on Monday afternoon, with R-MC making the trip to the University of Mary Washington along with six other programs in an eight-team pod.
  • R-MC Leads All-ODAC Volleyball Awards with Three Special Honors

    Randolph-Macon earned three major awards and placed a league-best five players on all-conference teams as part of the annual All-ODAC Volleyball Awards. Yellow Jackets setter Erin Quinn was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year, while mentor Bill Rogers repeated as the ODAC Coach of the Year. Outside hitter Miranda Hall garnered ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels. Bridgewater outside hitter Carleigh Studtmann secured ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete honors from the conference's sports information directors.
  • Randolph-Macon Wins ODAC Volleyball Championship

    Randolph-Macon continued its strong play against ODAC opponents on Saturday afternoon, completing a straight-sets run thru the conference tournament that included a 3-0 victory over Washington and Lee for the ODAC title in Ashland. The championship is the fifth overall and second straight for the Yellow Jackets.
  • ODAC Sets Eight-Team Volleyball Tournament Field

    Randolph-Macon College ran thru the conference regular season unbeaten for the second straight year, dropping just five sets on the way to securing the top seed in next week's ODAC Volleyball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets will be one of four teams to host quarterfinal matches slated for Wednesday.

    Cross country's regular season ended a week ago and the remaining fall sports are gearing down towards tournament time, but that doesn't mean the performances have slowed.   • Generals Headline Tight ODAC Volleyball Preseason Poll
    August 26, 2016
    Just seven points separate the top three teams in the ODAC Volleyball Preseason Poll with Washington and Lee University leading the coaches' survey with 115 total points. The Generals earned six first place votes, while Randolph-Macon College and Virginia Wesleyan College collected three each. The Yellow Jackets sit second overall with 109 tallies, just one point clear of the Marlins.
  • Washington and Lee Tops ODAC Men's Cross Country Poll
    August 19, 2016
    Defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee University was picked as the favorite entering the 2016 season as the Generals received eight first place votes towards 98 total points to lead the ODAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll. Bridgewater College follows close behind with 90 tallies and two top nods, while Lynchburg College received the final first place vote on the way to 80 points to round out the top-three in the annual coaches' survey.
