Winton, a junior from Magnolia, Texas, led Randolph-Macon to a perfect 6-0 start to the season without dropping a game. In the first match of the year on Tuesday, Winton had eight kills and three blocks versus Marymount. She then had six kills the following night at St. Mary's. During the weekend, she helped the Yellow Jackets earn four wins at the Gettysburg Invitational, registering 37 kills in those four matches with just five errors. For her efforts, she was named to the all-tournament team.

Ashley Scott, Bridgewater College, Freshman - Outside
Hitter
Scott was named to the all-tournament team at the Trinity
University River City Invitational. In BC's four matches she
average 2.43 kills per game and a .330 hitting percentage. Scott
turned in strong performances in five-set matches against
nationally-ranked Trinity and Cal Lutheran. Against Cal Lutheran,
she finished with 15 kills and a .462 hitting percentage. Against
Trinity she put down 16 kills and finished with a .306 hitting
percentage. For the week, Scott averaged 2.7 kills per game and
turned in a .337 hitting percentage.
Tabith Bowman, Eastern Mennonite University, Sophomore -
Outside Hitter
Bowman led the team in kills (33) and second in digs
(40) during the weekend invitational.
Rachel Fertitta, Emory & Henry College, Sophomore -
Middle Hitter
Fertitta picked up where she left off last season leading
the Wasps to victory. E&H went 4-1 on the week as Fertitta
averaged 4.0 kills per game and 1.94 blocks per game. Fertitta's
hitting pct. was .311 for the week. E&H defeated Ferrum,
Southern Virginia, Sweet Briar and Roanoke.
Laura Kopald, Guilford College, Sophomore - Middle
Hitter
Kopald represented Guilford on the Averett Classic
All-Tournament team. She is hitting .375 through the Quakers'
first five matches, with just four errors in 80 total
attempts. Kopald had a career-high 10 kills on .429 hitting
versus Maryville (Tenn.). She served up three aces in wins
over Peace and Greensboro, accounting for 11.5 points against peace
Peace.
Elena Kritter, Lynchburg College, Sophomore - Outside
Kritter opened the season with 38 kills in 16 games as the
Hornets began the season 4-0. She had a .243 hitting percentage,
six service aces and seven blocks this weekend at the EMU
Tournament.
Caitlyn Long, Roanoke College, Senior - Setter
Long was named to the 2009 Maroon Classic All-Tournament
Team after totaling 108 assists in 17 games. She also came
away with 16 digs and registered eight kills against only one error
in 15 attacks for a .467 percentage.
Lindsey Spears, Virginia Wesleyan College, Junior - Right
Side
Spears turned in an errorless effort in the Holiday Inn
Select Invitational, recording 27 kills, no errors, and 51 total
attacks, for a .529 hitting percentage. She also recorded 12
aces in the four matches, including a career-high seven against
Rivier College, the two-time defending champion of the GNAC, GNAC
preseason title favorite, and NCAA qualifier in 2007 and
2008. The seven aces ties the fifth highest effort in VWC
history. Spears currently leads the Marlins in hitting percentage
(.427), aces (13) and is third in digs (29) and block assists (7).
