M.A. BOLES, Washington and Lee, Freshman, Outside Hitter

Boles, a freshman from Houston, Texas, earns her second straight weekly honor and second of the season.  Boles led the Generals to a 3-0 week, including a 3-0 win over Roanoke … averaged 13.7 kills and 7 digs, while hitting .384 for the week … posted 19 kills (.395) and 11 digs in the sweep of the Maroons … helped W&L avenge an early-season loss to Averett with 14 kills (.423), 7 digs and 2 blocks against the Cougars. 

Volleyball Honor Roll

Morgan Grant, Emory & Henry College, Sophomore, Outside Hitter
Grant is coming on strong for the Wasps as she helped to lead the Wasps this week to a 3-2 victory over Guilford College (26-24, 27-25, 19-25, 20-25, 15-5). Grant led with 17 kills and also collected 13 digs and two blocks for the match. Over the last seven matches, E&H is 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the ODAC. During this span, Grant has led the Wasps with 82 kills (3.04/kpg, .229 hitting pct.) and has been one of the leaders in digs as well with 2.63 digs per game.

Brittany Freeman, Guilford College, Sophomore, Outside Hitter
Freeman averaged a team-high 3.25 kills per set in the Quakers’ 2-1 week… also contributed 2.58 digs per set, three blocks and five service aces… averaged nearly five kills per set and had 15 digs and three blocks in the Quakers’ 3-1 win over Bridgewater, the Quakers’ first since 1997… hit .312 in the match… had 13 kills on .286 hitting, plus 13 digs in Guilford’s 3-2 road loss to Emory & Henry… put away seven kills in a 3-0 win over Marymount.

Caroline English, Randolph College, Senior, Setter
English continued to lead the WildCats this weekend, thought the squad stumbled this week to a 0-5 record. English just missed a triple-double in the week finale against Regis, as she notched nine kills (all on dumps), 21 assists and 14 digs. She had at least 22 assists in all five matches this week and led the team with six aces and two double-doubles.

Raena Winton, Randolph-Macon College, Senior, Right Side
Winton averaged 12.6 kills in a 4-2 week for R-MC, including ODAC wins over Eastern Mennonite and Randolph.  Winton had 15 kills against the Royals and seven against Randolph.

Maggie Wagner, Roanoke College, Senior, Outside Hitter
Wagner totaled 33 kills and 36 digs to lead Roanoke last week to a 2-1 record.  Also totaled five aces and five blocks.  Had 13 kills in win over Averett in three sets, along with 14 digs and three blocks.  Had 10 kills, 19 digs and two block solos in a loss to Washington & Lee.  Had 10 kills against Mary Baldwin.
