MALLORY CARTER, Randolph-Macon, Junior, Outside Hitter

Carter, a junior from Moseley, Va., picks up her second weekly award of the 2011 season.  Carter helped R-MC to a 4-0 week, with three of those wins being against ODAC foes and one victory against previously unbeaten Mary Washington.  Carter recorded at least 11 kills in each of the four matches and had double digits in three of the four wins as well.    She opened the week with 19 kills and 23 digs over Mary Washington, before helping R-MC rally to a 3-1 victory over Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday with 18 kills and 18 digs.  This weekend she had 17 kills and eight digs against Emory and Henry and closed out the week with 11 kills and 12 digs in a win over Guilford.  She finished the week with 65 kills and 61 digs as well as eight aces and four block assists.

Volleyball Honor Roll

Mara Hogan, Bridgewater, Junior, Outside Hitter
Hogan turned in two solid performance to help lead the Eagles to a 1-1 record during the week. In a 3-1 loss to Lynchburg, Hogan recorded a double-double, leading the team in kills with 12 and digs with 16. In the 3-2 victory over Randolph, she led the team with 12 kills while also finishing with six digs.

Aricquel Payne, Lynchburg, Freshman, Outside Hitter
Payne led the Hornet volleyball team to a 3-0 record last week, all ODAC matches. She led the team with 35 kills, was second with 34 digs and added six blocks.  In a 3-1 win over Bridgewater, she notched 17 kills along with 15 digs, both personal weekly highs.

Jordan Templin, Randolph, Freshman Outside Hitter
Templin posted three straight double-doubles in the WildCats 1-2 week. Against Hollins, Templin posted 15 kills and 11 digs to go with one ace. Friday night in a win over EMU, she chalked up 11 kills and 12 digs followed by an 11-kill 26-dig performance in a five-set loss to Bridgewater College. On the week, she hit at a .283 clip and posted three total blocks to go with 37 kills and 49 digs.

M.A. Boles, Washington and Lee, Sophomore, Outside Hitter
Boles led the Generals to a 4-0 week, including a 3-0 record in ODAC games … totaled 46 kills  (3.8/set), 45 digs (3.75/set) and added five service aces … registered 15 kills while hitting .424 with 14 digs and a pair of service aces in the Generals’ 3-0 win over Hollins … finished the week with 13 kills, 11 digs and a pair of service aces in a 3-0 win over Maryville.
