Cockerham, a senior from Galax, Va., led Emory & Henry to a 4-1 showing in its opening weekend as she hammered 69 total kills that included a trio of double-digit matches.  Cockerham's high mark came in a 3-2 win over William Peace as she converted a career-high 26 winners, which would have tied for the most in one match with last season's conference-high.  She also had 14 kills in a triumph over Methodist and 11 winners against Greensboro.  Cockerham added 43 digs, eight aces and four blocks to her weekend stat line.

Volleyball Honor Roll

Katie Miller, East. Mennonite - (Fr, DS - San Antonio, TX, 3)
Miller was having a successful enough debut for EMU, averaging 4.00 digs/set or more over her first three matches. Then against Allegheny, the libero racked up 44 digs, pushing the Lady Royals to a 3-2 victory and also tying an EMU match record originally set in 1997. She also had 18 digs and four service aces in a match against Carlow. After her first four collegiate contests, Katie is leading the ODAC with 5.80 digs/set.

Rebecca Loftis, Lynchburg - (Sr, MH - Coventry, CT, 24)
Loftis helped Lynchburg to a 3-0 start to the season as the Hornets topped Meredith, Mary Baldwin and ODAC foe Randolph, all by 3-0 scores.  Loftis posted 33 kills over the three matches, including 14 against MBC.  Her .733 hitting percentage on 12 kills and just one error in 15 chances against Randolph is the third highest single-match mark in school history.

Mackenzie Tyree, Roanoke - (Fr, S - Daleville, VA, 4)
In a 1-3 week for the Maroons, Tyree led Roanoke in digs each match, including 21 against Peace and 19 against Averett.  She finished with 68 digs guarding RC's back line on the weekend.

Blake Parkes, Shenandoah - (Fr, OH - Winchester, Va., 7)
Parkes helped Shenandoah to a 2-0 record to start the season as she handed out 29 assists and record 13 digs, 11 kills, four aces and three blocks in wins over Valley Forge Christian and Hood.

Anna Lausberg, Washington and Lee - (Fr, OH - Ocoee, Fla., 14)
In the first four matches of her collegiate career, Lausberg totaled 43 kills on a .274 hitting percentage, while the Generals went 2-2. She totaled a season-high 14 kills in both matches on Saturday, including hitting a robust .458 against Rhodes. She also tallied 14 digs on the weekend and one service ace.
