The ODAC Baseball Tournament is in year two of a new format in 2019 with eight teams qualifying for the postseason. Play covers two weekends beginning with four best-of-three series on the campuses of the top four seeds. The four winners will meet the following weekend at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark in Salem, Va., for a double-elimination tournament to determine the conference champion.
Al games will be scheduled for nine innings and played to completion unless otherwise noted.
BEST-OF-THREE SERIES
The ODAC Tournament begins with four best-of-three series on the campuses on May 3-5. Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, are the default dates for the three games. Friday, May 3, could be used due to potential conflicts on campus including exams and graduation. The #1 Seed will host the #8 Seed, the #2 Seed will host the #7 Seed, the #3 Seed will host the #6 Seed, and the #4 Seed will host the #5 Seed.
The first day will feature one game. The second game and "if necessary" third game will both be played on the second day.
TOURNAMENT AT SALEM MEMORIAL BALLPARK
The four winners from the first weekend advance to play at Salem Memorial Ballpark in Salem, Va. The qualifying teams will play thru a double elimination format on May 10-12 to determine the conference champion as well as the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
Friday, May 10, will see each team play one game. Three games will be played on Saturday, May 11, beginning with an elimination game followed by a contest between both of Friday's winners. The last game of the game will lock on the two teams that will play on Sunday, May 12. Both of Sunday's games could potentially crown the league champion, with the second serving as an "if necessary" game in the double-elimination format.
