Generals Headline ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Field

FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University increased its ODAC regular season unbeaten streak to nine seasons as the fifth-ranked Generals posted an 8-0 league mark on the way to securing the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

The #1 billing also affords the Generals hosting duties for the conference semifinal and championship rounds. They along with second-seeded Roanoke earn byes into the semifinals in the seven-team field.

Two ties impacted the tournament's seven-team field, but not the first three seeds with Roanoke and Shenandoah University occupying those positions, respectively. The fourth seed, however, did require some behind the scenes math to determine. The University of Lynchburg and Virginia Wesleyan University tied at 5-3 in the league table. They did not face each other during the regular season in the ODAC's unbalanced schedule, so head-to-head was not applicable. The ODAC's second step, the five-point tiebreaker, saw Lynchburg win the tiebreaker with a higher victory point total. The Hornets will be the fourth seed and welcome the Marlins to the Hill City in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Randolph-Macon College earned the sixth seed outright. The Yellow Jackets will host the first round on Monday and welcome Bridgewater College to Ashland. The Eagles tied with Ferrum College at 3-5 in the ODAC standings. Head-to-head results broke this stalemate with BC's 15-11 at Ferrum proving the deciding factor. The winner of that first round contest will travel to R-MC in the quarterfinals.
